HUFFLEPUFF: “Some people believe you destroy your enemies by making them your friends.” –Rebecca Roanhorse (Kai Arviso: Trail of Lightning)
Mass market urban fantasy… any great gay couples in them? Any recs?
So far, I got:
Adam & Dominic in Jenna Black’s “Morgan Kingsley” series
Tony & Henry in Tanya Huff’s “Vicki Nelson” series
Warren & Kyle in Patricia Briggs’ “Mercy Thompson” series
Alec & Magnus in Cassandra Clare’s “The Mortal Instruments” series
Robin & Ishiah in Rob Thurman’s “Cal Leandros” series
Any more?
I just read “white trash warlock” which is still working out its otp, but if you are looking for gay urban fantasy it ,ught ,ake you happy
On the one hand, I feel the strong need to point out that Henry is canonically bisexual, mostly relevant as a major plot pointl On the other:
Adam and Ronan in Raven Boys
Jane and August (“I’m bisexual asshole”) in One Last Stop by Casey McQuinton
May and Jazz in Seanan McGuire’s Toby Daye books (also see: January and Le Quin, and [spoilers]
Shout out to Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas which has an OTP and a ton of fun queer rep and is worth the read because it abslotuely delightful.
Cemetery boys is an absolute delight

honey is the only food product that never spoils. there are pots of honey that are over five thousand years old and still completely edible
i also want to point out we know it tastes the same even after thousands of years b/c archaeologists who discovered two thousand year old honey tasted it. presumably right after they looked at each other and went “what the hell here goes nothing”
I’m pretty sure they also identify human remains by taste. Archaeologists are straight up freaks.
No, no no… you identify bone from rock or other substances by touching it to your tongue. If it sticks, it’s bone. The taste itself has nothing to do with it. And most archaeologists won’t lick human bones if they know they’re human.
…and I realize that doesn’t actually do much to prove archaeologists aren’t freaks.
mai nam is jane and wen i dig i fynde some roks both smol and big i put my tung upon the stone for science yes i lik the bone
I’m sitting with a bunch of archaeologists and we just laughed so hard we CRIED we’re getting tshirts with this on them
I will never ever get tired of seeing bredlik poems. It is really one of the seminal art forms of the century. I am not being sarcastic.
Come on, Robin! Just do it!
I love them

Every time I see meta about characters and strength and saving and being saved, ALL I can think of is One Piece and Water 7/Enies Lobby.
