Ran 3.22km with #NRC and my #crossfit #box today for the midday class. Would of been better to just go home a punch myself in the balls for an hour. 57:36 was my time. Which is better than last time. Should of just gone for a #run and been a #runner

Ran 3.23k with #NRC #justdoit another #sunday #murph bites the dust. Slow second mile. Real slow. Like walked some of it slow. Was on track for a PR but died in the arse on the last mile.

Ran 3.22k with #nrc So in back at it. Running with a 20# vest. 1st ml in 7:48 2nd ml just under 10. Hard work. Not as hard as the clean up most of houston is about to begin. Or can't begin coz there house is still under water for the next month. Spare a thought #houston #haurricaneharvey

So today is the day the news finally turned off. It started last Friday and has been going non stop 24 hours a day until now Thursday the 31st of August. It has been the most uncompromising onslaught of rain I have ever been through. Anyone in America has ever been through. This picture was made at the edge of the flooding. Half a mile from my house. Which remained untouched. This is where it was at it's least damaging and yet a whole development was under mandatory evacuation. Under 2ft of water. On the first two nights Houston had 155 tornado warnings. Those were two nights of the kids getting in and out of the cupboard under the stairs. And it didn't stop there. It continued on for four more days of rain and river flooding. Of controlled damn releases. Of neighboring neighborhoods being decimated by flood waters. The drama just kept unfolding day after day. The Cajun Navy. Police forces from other city's. Rescue workers from other states. Friends loosing everything. Their houses going from 1ft of water to 5ft of water in a couple of hours. Watching water bubble up from under the house and watching it disappear as they floated off rescued by a volunteer and a boat. Securing nothing but their important documents and their two children. This is not something that will be over in two weeks. This is going to be a couple of years before things become safe and secured. A couple of years Harvey. A couple of years.
