Communication tips

Hi frens!! Here are some tips for if you have a hard time communicating with your caregiver about your needs.

💖~ Talk about your needs while big. If you need extra attention or have certain fears while regressed, it’s best to talk about them when you’re not in headspace.

💖~ Tell your cg why it’s hard for you. My cg knows that I have a hard time asking for things because of trauma, and that helps him understand. If they know why, they can help you work around it.

💖~ Blame a stuffie. Sometimes it feels easier to say ‘Teddy bear wants a juice box’ than to say I do.

💖~ Write a note or send a text. Even if you’re in the same room, sometimes it’s less scary than physically speaking.

💖~ Practice. Ask for little things that don’t feel as scary, and soon you’ll feel brave enough to ask for bigger and bigger things!

°🧦⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ | that knows the perfect pillow to blanket ratio so you have plenty of support and soft surfaces, but also plenty of materials to wrap yourself in and lay in.

°🧦⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ | that somehow always has the best body temp for cuddling. cuddling them is never too hot, it always feels like the perfect temperature.

°🧦⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ | that learns sewing, darning, mending, etc. so they can repair all of your comfort clothes, plushies, etc. in nearly invisible ways so you can enjoy them. if the repair does leave a mark, they make it as cute as possible. example: turning a patch on a shirt into a cute pattern or making it look like a flower.

°🧦⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ | that delivers your hot meals right before they've cooled. they're still hot, fresh. but they've cooled down just enough that you can blow on them and take happy bites without much risk of hurting your little mouth on the food.

a caregiver that... loves pacifiers!

a caregiver that always ensures your pacifiers are clean. they try to keep a routine of prepping them before going to bed. or they try to prepare them while you're out at work and/or school.

a caregiver that pops one in your mouth the moment they've brought you home and set you up on the couch to be content with your pacifier while they prepare dinner.

a caregiver that comes to get you for dinner but sees you so focused on coloring with your binky in your mouth.

a caregiver that cannot help but melt at the sight of their precious little one so content and happy. especially with the perfect binky to match your outfit!

a caregiver who quickly takes a few cute little photos of you before finally getting you to dinner, where the binky is replaced to a delicious meal to fill your tummy

Him rocking me in his arms and humming until I’m calm

Him cleaning up my arms and legs and putting cute plasters on to help me feel better

Him reassuring me that everyone makes mistakes and that he’s not mad at me

Him checking on my cuts as they heal to make sure they’re not infected

Him sitting on the couch with me when I’m finally calm and putting on a movie while he makes me a snack

Him still loving me and caring for me because I can’t do it for myself
