△ DAFT ZINE UPDATE #14 - ORDERS FULFILLED △

Hello everyone! Hope you’ve all been enjoying your Summer. Here’s an update on the status of the project and what to expect for the future.

As of June 21st, all zines were sent out successfully! By now, all orders should have received an email notification including tracking for your shipments. Packages have started to arrive or are in the process of arriving very soon. If your shipment has not updated, please give it a few days to do so! The situation with the postal service has improved significantly, but customers may still experience delays. Delivery speeds will vary depending on destination and (in some cases) customs! 

Here are approximate delivery speeds for shipments:

Domestic (non-express)

3-5 business days following shipping notice

International (non-express)

1-6 business weeks following shipping notice

At this time, all Digital Love preorders have also been sent the Daft Zine PDF. Instructions were sent to the email used at checkout explaining how to access the file. If anyone is having difficulty, please send an email to [email protected] at any time for assistance!

Thank you all so much for making Round Three such a huge success. We received nearly double the amount of orders compared to Round Two which is simply incredible!! Another update will be posted regarding the charity donation once shipments are given some time to be delivered (in case anything is returned/damaged/etc). △ DAFT ZINE UPDATE #13 - PREORDERS CLOSED△

Hello everyone! This is coming a few days late but preorders for the Daft Zine have officially CLOSED. Thank you so much to everyone who ordered a copy of the zine! It truly is amazing to see how much support this final round received. In the coming week, the zine will once again be finalized and submitted for publishing! Please note that if you ordered a PDF version of the zine, it will be released after physical orders have been shipped.

As you know, we had two stretch goals in place. If the goals were met, the items would be included with every physical order of the zine.

Very excited to share that the final stretch goal was successfully unlocked! All physical orders of the Daft Zine will be accompanied by an exclusive patch and enamel pin! Yay!

All proceeds after printing and shipping will be donated to Music Unites, a national non-profit organization with “the mission to raise academic and lifetime achievement for at-risk public school students through the support and creation of unique music education partnerships and programs.”

Hello everyone! For anyone who missed it, preorders for the Daft Zine have opened and will be ending on April 23rd at 11:59pm EST. Head on over to our Storenvy site to purchase a copy if you haven’t already!

As you may know, we have two stretch goals in place based on the amount of money we raise for the zine: a patch and an enamel pin. If the goals are met, the items will be included with every physical order of the zine.

Super excited to share that the first stretch goal has been unlocked and we are already more than halfway to the second one! All physical orders of the Daft Zine will be accompanied by an exclusive patch! Yay!

It has only been a week, but the zine has received such a large number of orders which has been so incredible to see. Thank you all so very much for supporting this project! As we approach the second stretch goal, another update will be posted if/when we reach $5k.

△ Important Store Update △

Hello everyone! Thank you so much again for your support over this past week! This is just a quick update regarding the Storenvy site as we have had a small issue regarding payment come up and wanted to keep you informed about how it will affect preorders for the time being.

To be clear, this will NOT prevent purchases from taking place. But for now, transactions will be limited to card ONLY until the matter is resolved.

A separate Paypal (PP) account was created to keep zine project transactions separated for the Daft Zine and all future projects the zine organizer will oversee. Last week, there were no issues with payments being added into the account for customers who paid via PP, so all of these payments are currently in the account. 

However, the volume of orders throughout the week did not match up with Monday when preorders began. This is usually the case with store openings, but because the account is new, PP flagged this as suspicious, and a few orders have been placed on a brief hold to ensure the transactions are legitimate. In order to release the hold, proof of shipping (i.e., tracking info) will have to be provided. Once the information has been sent, PP should release the holds within a few days of shipping update. To avoid any additional held PP payments, the option to use PP at checkout has been removed from the shop temporarily.

Currently, there are 8 orders that have been impacted by a payment hold. PP is a preferred option for many, so to ensure it can be utilized as preorders proceed, these orders will be fulfilled ahead of schedule to release the holds and allow payments to resume. 

If your order has been held, an email will be going out to notify the customers on the status of their shipping. All other physical orders will begin fulfillment during the originally scheduled time of late April/early May. PDfs will also still be made available after physical order fulfillment has concluded.

This was not something that could have been accounted for before preorders began, and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it may currently cause. As soon as the matter is resolved, another update will be shared acknowledging PP has been added back to the shop as a payment option. Please note that there has been a change in host site for preorders. It was brought to my attention that Gumroad's usual processing time for payments for preorder products can take up to 2 weeks. This could cause a serious delay in ordering the zines (which was intended to be done as soon as preorders close) as well as shipment.

Gumroad was initially chosen based on its ability to send out PDF files instantly upon purchase and to keep digital/physical sales to one site. On Monday, March 22nd at 9:09am EST, preorders for the Daft Zine will be live once again on Instagram, Tumblr, and Twitter. Preorders will stay open for approximately one month, ending on Friday, April 23rd at 11:59pm EST.

The zine will be available for purchase via Storenvy. This project continues to be non-profit and all proceeds will be donated to the original charity, Music Unites, after shipping* has concluded. There will be two products available: 

The Daft Zine (PDF) $15 USD, automatic download

The Daft Zine (Physical Book) $30 USD, preorder to ship late April/early May

*Shipping charges will vary by region. Domestic (US) packages will be priced at $6 USD while International (Everywhere Else) packages will be priced at $25 USD. These rates will be in addition to the price of the zine! Sales tax will also be added at checkout.

A number of people expressed interest in purchasing merch/bundles from the previous rounds. Unfortunately, these items are no longer available. Please inquire with the original artists directly regarding availability!

△ DAFT ZINE UPDATE #10△ [ACTION ENCOURAGED]

Hello everyone! It’s been a while. As I'm sure you are all aware, Daft Punk announced their retirement as a duo last Monday. The news sparked an international response with individuals looking back on fond memories, sharing stories, and of course, great sadness. It has been abundantly clear these past few days that Daft Punk meant so much to so many, and the sudden disbandment was undoubtedly an unexpected turn. 

The Daft Zine was created as a tribute to the legacy the robots had built in their then 20+ years of history. And at the time, I was confident there would be more in store for them. Although this may be where their story concludes (for now), I am so very grateful for what they were able to give us in that time together. And I cannot thank you all enough for the response the zine has had and continues to have today! 

After serious thought, I am writing to let you all know that I would like to proceed with a third and absolutely FINAL round of preorders for the zine!

This was something I never could have predicted would occur. I have received inquiries over the years asking about a possible reprint, but I had no way of gauging the response it would receive. With the announcement last week, attention has come to the zine full force, and I believe with the resurgence of interest in the project (and the duo) that I can adequately manage the preorder process one more time.

Like Round 2, it will only involve the Digital PDF and the physical zine. There will be NO additional merch items available, with the exception of the patch and enamel pin, which will be stretch goals! This project continues to be non-profit and all proceeds will be donated to the original charity, Music Unites, after shipping has concluded.

Before proceeding further, I would like to have one final survey to make note of the number of people interested in the zine. If you would like to purchase a copy of the Daft Zine, please be sure to fill it out! The details for Round Three are still TBD, but preorders will most likely be taking place before the end of March and remain open for a period of 1 month. The zines will be available on Gumroad for preorder Here.

I am also excited to share that the zine is now on Instagram @daftzine! Please check back for updates regarding the start of preorder as well as a proper announcement for when the items go on sale. Reblogs are also greatly appreciated! Help spread the word so we can ensure everyone who had interest in the zine but was unable to receive a copy knows that now is the time!!

Hey everyone! It’s long overdue, but here’s the full version of my Discovery era piece I did for the @daftzine way back when. I just want to thank everyone who helped make the zine a reality…your messages, your artwork, your pictures! Everything I saw as the project progressed made me so happy and I’m glad it was so well received. I learned so much from this experience, as a zine organizer and as an artist, and there will definitely be more to come! Daft Punk related? Who knows! I’d love to do another project like this for whatever the robots have in store for the future…if anything!! 🤖💖🤖
