5) Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
6) Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; remove to wire rack. Cool completely. Store tightly covered. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
I have digestive issues. The doctor says I shouldn't eat any fruits or vegetables or wheat. So all I've been eating is sherbet. About a gallon of sherbet per day.
Having a few quick dinner recipes in your back pocket is always a good thing. But even better are the recipes that don't use multiple bowls and pans, allowing you to cut down on prep time and dishes. This is why I love a good skillet recipe.
I recently received a cast iron skillet as a gift I have been too intimidated to use it very much. I'm getting inspired by these recipes from The Kitchn!
Since it's fall, it's the perfect time to make quick breads! I tested out the oven in this temp apt. by trying out a bunch of different flavors and I'm quite happy with the way they all turned out....
Fall and winter are my favorite times to bake. There are so many yummy recipes listed here. Lavender bread sounds too good to be true! These may end up being gifts for others... or they may never leave my kitchen MMMMmmmmmmm
I got up the morning of the Fourth made sangria! And because these photos are from the actual batch I made for the party, and...
This sangria recipe has been on my recipe wishlist for quite a while. Now that we're entering colder months I'm hoping I'll still remember it when spring and summer roll around.
Roasting kale is one of my favorite ways to enjoy this hearty winter green. The edges become nice and crispy, which is the perfect contrast to the melt in your mouth sweet potatoes. This dish is a great balance of sweet and spicy and has quickly become one of my favorite meals to serve when I have guests over. If you're not into salmon, try topping the greens with a fried egg! It's simple and delicious and makes for some great leftovers (if there is any)! This recipe was inspired by Heidi Swanson's Kale Salad from one of my favorite cookbooks: Super Natural Every Day.
This recipe includes a few of my favorite things: sweet potatoes, rice + coconut milk, kale, coconut and SALMON! CANNOT WAIT TO MAKE THIS
I was really excited to try this recipe the other night because I've had a LARGE bag of pancake mix from Costco for a long time now. Didn't mix anything in but really enjoyed these with butter and raspberry jam. The next time I make the recipe I'll try keeping the dough formed to a thicker consistency for thicker scones.
In a recent interview with Grub Street, Laurie David, producer of the new film Fed Up, shared that she likes to make her own passionfruit cocktail by scooping the fruit into a jar and covering it with vodka for a few days. Turns out, making fruit-flavored vodka is actually the easiest thing ever, and we should be doing it all the time. Learn to make it yourself and you can have fruity, delicious cocktails within reach anytime you want (or give some to your friends and make everyone love you).
Literally all you need to make fruit-flavored vodka magic is: - fruit of your choice - vodka (preferably 80 or 100 proof) or another spirit of your choice - optional add-ins - fresh herbs, spices, ginger, citrus peel, or whatever your heart desires - clean glass bottle or jar - strainer To make your vodka:
1. Rinse and pat your selected fruits dry. Get rid of the seeds and pits. If using citrus, you can keep the peels on for a stronger flavor or remove them if you like.
2. Chop and place your fruit in a clean glass bottle or jar with optional add-ins. If using berries or herbs, muddle them a bit to release more flavor.
3. Pour your vodka over the fruit. For a balanced fruity flavor, use two cups of fruit and two to three cups of vodka. You can use less or more fruit depending on how fruity you want it to taste. It's important that the fruit is completely covered with vodka to prevent bacteria growth.
4. Refrigerate for three to five days, shaking daily. Taste the mixture beginning on the third day to see if it's ready.
5.To strain or not to strain is up to you. If you like the texture of the fruity bits, leave them in there. If strained, your alcohol will last years!
The possibilities for flavor creations are endless, but here are a few to get you going:
vanilla bean + cardamom
rhubarb + ginger
blackberries + coffee (trust us on this one)
pineapple + mint
strawberries + pepeprcorns
lime + cilantro + ginger
grapefruit + rosemary
lemon + lavender
Now go forth and prosper, you budding mixologists!

The name Dahlia Isle Smile was inspired by the verse below, written by Lord Holland of England in 1824 after dahlia seeds had been brought from France, and Madrid before that.
"The dahlia you brought to our isle
Your praises for ever shall speak;
Mid gardens as sweet as your smile,
And in colour as bright as your cheek."
May you find yourself exploring, and sharing along the way!
Cheers!
