It is quiet on the hill where he stands. Watching. Staring up at the endless strands of stars and all that has yet to be discovered.

A quiet broken by soft sounds, uttered to whatever may have been listening, unseen.

‘I take back all that you took from me without my knowing. So late, I know.’ Laughter. Perhaps madness. ‘Yet it is the only way -- my way -- to finish this at last. For myself.’

‘To say that there was not anything good that bloomed would be a lie. There were many good things, and it was perhaps that sweetness that I kept too close, kept to myself to cover the lie I told myself.

To cover that I was simply a coward, despite all my strength I gave. For that, I apologize.’

A sigh.

‘There is no ill will in my spark. I cannot give what is undeserved. I just reclaim what was mine so that I may move on.’

‘I suppose it is just another lesson to an old relic and his beliefs. To know that fate is not always such a simple thing. I only pray that you may find a semblance of peace in turn. Take what is yours back for I could only give it willingly and without rancor.’

‘Ah... I suppose I will stop talking to the night. Last thing I need is for someone to find me talking to myself to further condemn me.’

‘... back to being the wandering fool, again, I suppose.’
