Why Pediatric Dentistry Is Important?
Pediatric dentistry is for diagnosing and treating oral health problems of children, from babies to teenagers. Throughout life we acquire 2 sets of teeth. The first, primary teeth or milk teeth, appear after 4 months and gradually fall off from around the age of 6 years to be replaced eventually by permanent teeth or adult teeth. The former are considered to be ‘place holders’ for the latter. In other words, if primary teeth are not evenly placed there is little chance for the permanent teeth to be even. That is why it’s important that primary teeth be given the care and attention they deserve.
