Character: Mondo Oowada

Reason for Being Hated: Asshole to everyone, just a stereotypical delinquent, overly violent, treats his friends poorly, [SPOILER] killed Chihiro Fujisaki out of blind rage [/SPOILER].
this is like my first time defending a character in a long time so apologies, but
it sounds to me whoever believes things like this either only watched the anime, or never read his free times.
"Asshole to everyone"
I’m not going to lie, Mondo CAN be an asshole, but saying he’s an asshole to everyone is incredibly wrong. For example, in an earlier part of the story, Mondo accidentally makes Chihiro upset, and in response…
But nah, Mondo’s an asshole to everyone, he doesn’t feel any remorse for making people uncomfortable or anything he’s just an asshole.
"Just a stereotypical delinquent"

No, but for real, Mondo is somewhat of a stereotype, but no character is 100% a stereotype, ever. Mondo has problems, problems I think a majority of people can agree with, ergo,
You don’t exactly see a lot of stereotypical delinquent talk about this just outright. Some times you will, but Mondo’s really the only one that’s ever blatantly said “I’m scared for my future.”
"Over violent"
A good portion of Mondo’s character is him trying to get over this. He can’t control the fact he’s really violent, yet. Fuck, he can’t even control his hair from fucking slapping Togami in the face.
And, lets not forget his explanation why he yells a lot,
So, taking this into account, “overly violent” can be technically correct, but not exactly. Also,

a wise man once said hating a character in dangan ronpa for killing someone is like hating a character in sonic for being fast

in short, mondo is aggresive and a delinquent, but he has remorse and owns up to when he did something horrible. stop saying he’s this overly mean and aggresive guy when he’s really not
