How to Design a Robot
((Trying to decide if i should revive this account. i miss all my fanbot friends so. *pondery*))
Testing the strings (Open)
There was a slight screech of strings as the petite automaton settled in the corner of the park, working on tuning the violin, her gloved fingers twitching over the strings for a moment. A few crimson curls drooped over her shattered face as she adjusted positions.
If anyone had been paying attention over the last hour, she'd made creeping progress into the park, her joints obviously locking at times. However, she'd finally managed to settle on a low wall, her head bowed over the instrument as pinkish optics flickered slightly.
Wake up call (Open?)
There was a slight creaking as first one pink optic flickered to life and then the other, followed by a grinding sound in the petite automaton's chest as the tried to get her bearings. She wasn't sure what, exactly, had happened, but here she was, sitting inside a closet somewhere, the only light in the space from her optics and the flickering, shadowy dance of patterns from her core as things shifted.
She was alone... Of course she was. With a creak, Dormouse managed to pull her knees to her chest for a moment as she considered her options. Finding Percy would probably be a top priority, but first, she had to figure out where she was... if she could stand to begin with.
The Tear (Open RP)
Somewhere in a shadowed area, a flicker of color began to appear. After a few mom, it spread and became an orb. The colors shifted and wavered, the swirls reminiscent of a soap bubble.
Suddenly, at the sound of a loud bark, the bubble 'popped', revealing a petite automaton in slightly ragged attire and her canine companion. The 'bot made a jerky shushing movement at the dog as she flickered a nervous glance around. It never hurt to be cautious when in an unfamiliar location.
((Would anyone be interested in my reviving this account? *flop*))
A series of paper airplanes float through a portal, fluttering their wings a bit to maintain momentum.
Rabbit found herself suddenly twirling around a bunch of paper airplanes, trying to avoid bumping into or stepping on any.
"J-jeeves!"
"I DID’N DO IT!" was the automatic response as Jeeves thudded down the hallway to whatever it was he didn’t do this time. He squealed in delight and ran over to try and catch an airplane. “Cool! I didn’t do it!”
The paper airplanes swirled around Rabbit, poking at her clothes curiously, only to all glide to a landing once Jeeves caught one. On one of the wings, in curly (but slightly shaky) writing was a letter D.
A few minutes later, this was followed by a somewhat familiar face all but tumbling through the portal. With a swing of her arms, Dormy managed to keep from toppling over. A lopsided blink as she looked around was followed by a grin at the sight of Jeeves.
As usual, the petite automaton looked to be in rough shape, as though she hadn’t been around people for a while. And was that a cobweb stuck in her hair? “Oh. F-f-f-f-found-ound them, y-y-y-yay~”
Jeeves got more and more excited as the display went on. He hopped around the forming portal, shrieking with happiness when Dormouse finally spilled out of thin air.
"DOWMY! You went away a long long time ago!" Jeeves exclaimed.
Rabbit bent a bit to pluck the cobweb from Dormouse’s hair, shaking it from her spindly fingers. The copper femme grinned. “Fall through the mir-ir-ir-irror?”
"Th-th-th-through a mirrror darkly? Or through th’ l-l-l-looking gl-glass? Either m-m-m-may be applicable." A twitch of her lips as she waved at Jeeves. She tiltyed her head at Rabbit and leaned forward slightly for a moment as she looked the taller ‘bot over, one brow ticked upward. "… Huh. Y’look… pretty?"
Dormy wasn’t the best judge of appearance at times, but she definitely noted a difference in Rabbit’s look. She straightened again with a shrug and bent to look at Jeeves, reaching over to poke at him lightly. “Was w-w-w-wondering where th-th-thossssse would end up. Probab-ably shouldn’t be surprised they found you.”

There was a scratching sound against a door, followed by what sounded like metal against metal and the sound of bells. "Gad-d-d-darnit, Percy... I ssssaid I d-d-d-didn't want t-to ... Oh, poopie."
There’s a startled noise on the other side, and feet can be heard running off.
Another set of feet come back, an exasperated sigh coming from their creator.
"For God’s sake! For such a big guy, he sure is a wuss."
Keys figures out the door, and opens it.
"Uhhh…. Hello?"
Keys is met with a headbutt from A rather larger than last time he was here, Percy, the dog's blue eyes curious as he snuffled at the 'bot. Dormouse was behind him, leaning against the wall as lightly as she could, her expression dismayed and vaguely disgruntled. Her clothes were lookign a bit faded and oddly dusty. "...Uhm... H-h-h-h-hello-lo again."
Please don’t be scared to RP with me, I’m not quality and I’m lonely.
"Yes, I agree." Cornelius offered a hand to help Dormouse up. "Come on Penelope."
"Coming!" She briefly turned to Percy. "Come on Percy!"
Percy nosed at Penelope, and then tried to pick her up by the back of her dress, his tail wagging.
She took Cornelius's hand, her head down as she snagged her bag from among the crumpled newspapers. "S-s-s-sorry."
Even though Dormouse said that she was perfectly alright, Cornelius didn’t completely believe her. “I don’t think it was a little while, Miss Dormouse.” He helped dust her off, and brushed the small cobwebs out of her hair. “Are you sure you’re ok?”
Penelope giggled and hugged Percy like an old friend.
They were actually in what looked like an attic, there were newspapers laid out on the floor near where they were standing, and the door to the downstairs was open to a darkened, apparently empty house.
A slight tic of her head as she wiggled her fingers to make sure they were still flexible as the were meant to be, and a 'tch' sound as one caught for a moment. She sounded and looked as though, as usual, she hadn't seen any maintenance in a while.
A little shake of her chassis made her jacket flap a bit as she smiled. "I-I-I will be... But perrrrhaps it might be a good idea to g-get out of here."
Cornelius rushed over to try and help. “Oh my goodness! Miss Dormouse are you alright?!” He placed his hands on her shoulders comfortingly.
Penelope giggled, and pet Percy softly. “You got big.”
"I-I-I-I think I went to sleep for a little while." A quick movement as she dusted off her clothes a bit. A small jangling sound emanated from her chest as she moved, vaguely discordant.
"I'm okay. Tip-t-t-t-t-top, Definitely. Y-y-yup." A crooked smile as she glanced over the two curiously. She patted at Cornelius's hand lightly, frowning slightly when she realized her gloves were gone as well. "I'll be okay, I p-p-p-promise. See, I can-can-can mo-move and stuff."
Anything to allay worry over her, even if she was falling apart, not that she currently was. Percy wuffed slightly at Penelope, circling around her. No, you got little.
Keep Your Splendid Silent Sun by Ivan Belikov
What do you imagine my muse has nightmares about?
If you’re right - I’ll tell you about a recent one.
First one, then the other lilac optic flickered to life as she stirred. Things had happened, she had been found, she had run away again, Percy was still with her, though he was a good deal more massive these days. She was ever grateful for the magically-refilling bowl the anon had given her quite…
Cornelius and Penelope had been walking nearby when they heard the chime. Penelope ran off immediately to see what it was. “Penelope wait!” Cornelius dropped the grocery bags he was hiding to run after her. When Penelope got close to the source of the chime she saw Percy. She would’ve run from the dog, but she recognized this one. “Percy?” Cornelius finally caught up with Penelope and was shocked to see what she had found. “Miss Dormouse?!”
A lopsided blink, followed by a 'yawn', that caused a scraping sound in the moving parts of her face as she lowered her hands and tried to steady herself. "Mmmmn? H-h-h-hello-lo?"
Percy nosed slightly at Penelope, snuffling at her curiously. Wow. You are very tiny. Hm.
Dormouse's face twitched slightly as she seemed to be getting a feel for making expressions again. Her usual hat was missing, leaving her curly hair unadorned except for some dust and a cobweb or two. One of the cracks in the overlay of her faceplates seemed to have widened slightly, but the enamel was still in place.
