outofstrings: sorry I havent been on much the last couple days. I FINALLY finished FF4, and palyed Interlude, and now I started TAY, though so far I do not like TAY. It feels like they over-complicated the systems in an attempt to make it different than FF4. But we’ll see. I’ll try to be more active in the coming days

“Can somebody PLEASE stop that chocobo?! He...she...it stole my harp!”

“Hey! Give that back! That thing is expensive!” Since when do chocobos just waltz into the castle like that, especially one out in the desert? He grumbled to himself.

“Edward, is that you? My, has it been some time. I had nearly forgotten what your harp sounded like.”

That voice? Could it be?

Edward was sitting on his throne, very nonchalantly to boot, with one leg draped over one of the arms. It was easier for him to play his instruments this way, especially his lute.

“Hm. King Cecil?! I barely recognized you! I suppose it really has been some time! What brings you all the way out here to the middle of nowhere?” Edward stopped playing his harp, but maintained his rather lazy sitting stance.

Edward sat up in his bed, scratching his head a bit. “Now, i’m not exactly the bravest person in the world. But that wasn’t a very scary dream. In fact, it was more laughable than anything. It was pretty obvious how unrealistic it was.Between the weird things he did and the brave things I did. I wonder who that guy was, though, and I wonder why it went in reverse.”

Broken Strings (Open)

Edward wandered through the shattered and broken halls of Damcyan Castle. There were people around, mostly soldiers and the like sent from Fabul and Baron in order to begin reconstructing the castle. 

He did not get much of a chance to simply take in what had actually been done to his home. When the dust had settled, he was standing over his dying love, and the next thing he knew, the Great Sage and the others arrived. This led to a long chain of events that kept him away from the castle for quite a while. 

He had been staying at Troia mostly. After all they were the ones who had helped him recover enough to help Cecil and the others at the end. He contacted Cid, who came and picked him up, and dropped him off here. 

“Prince Edward!” A female voice called out. Edward looked up, only to see that it was his secretary-in-training, Harley. “Welcome home! We have a lot to discuss.”

Edward sighed a bit. “I know. I will soon have a lot of responsibilites. But can we discuss everything tomorrow? I just want to take everything in tonight.”

Harley nodded. “As you wish, my Prince.” She bowed, and disappeared back towards the throne room.

“I guess I’ll go for a walk.” Edward aid to himself. He turned and walked out of the castle. 

Edward made his way to the shore, to the west of Damcyan castle. It was dusk, so most of the creatures that inhabited the desert around the castle during the day were nowhere to be found. He got there rather uneventfully, and he sat down on a nearby rock.

He took out his harp, and began playing the oh so familiar song that he found himself playing more often than not.

He looked out over the ocean as he played. “Anna…what should I do? I know you want me to help people…but if I accept my responsibilities as Prince of Damcyan…would I have time to do that which I love?”

Timeline wise (and this only matters to FF4 people really) it will be Post FF4 but Pre TaY. So

Either way, please don’t be afraid to respond to it. It’s going to be quite long, I think, but pelase dont be intimdated by that.

Adult male… Locke’s grin quirked a bit. He supposed the harp wasn’t exactly a manly instrument. But, in his opinion, a real man wouldn’t care about such a thing. “Skill is skill… It don’t matter much to me what type of skill it is.”

“So, to answer your question… yes. I’m a music lover. My grandma played the piano, and she taught me how to play. Anytime I meet a musician, I have to admire ‘em.”

“Oh. Forgive me. I didn’t mean it as any sort of insult. It’s just that in the past the only ones who told me they loved my music was my fiancee, and the children in my hometown. It simply caught me by surprise.”

Edward ran a hand through his own hair. “You’ve piqued my interest, though. Would you mind telling me some of the songs you know? I’m curious if I know them too, and if not, I’d love to maybe learn some. My name is Edward by the way.”
