oh I am positively BEWITCHED, I just looked out my window and saw this little feller flying around, hovering mid-air and looking directly at me and I’m like hello?? who are you??? you look like a hummingbird but this is no habitat for hummingbirds, what in the ever loving climate change fastly approaching global warming induced death are you??? so I did what any reasonable person would do and looked him up on google and oh my god. oh jesus christ. you guys.

it’s a moth. a MOTH.

it’s called the hummingbird hawk-moth and it specifically evolved in order to resemble a hummingbird and just so happens to live in climates where hummingbirds do not naturally exist and just decided to hover outside my window to absolutely blow my mind, how have I reached my mid-20s and never in my life seen any of these little guys I am going to fucking cry real manly tears they’re so cute I love the world. what a fantastic day to be alive

So for those of you wondering, this happens 4 times in a 28 year period. If it is not a leap year when the first day of the year is Saturday, and if it is a leap year when the first day of the year is Friday. So this will happen again in 2033, 2039, 2044, 2050, 2061, 2067, 2072, 2078, 2089, and 2095. 2100 will not be a leap year so the first calendar with this feature in the next century will be 2101, followed by 2107, 2112, 2118, 2129, and the cycle repeats.
