Re-Re-Re-mapping Revachol

… and the Insulinde as a whole

Very much inspired by ssshiversss and Map Max, whose versions of the map were absolutely invaluable for wrapping my head around this project. Combining their work with the original map of Jamrock, and doing my best to stay loyal to the (often contradictory) descriptions in the text of the game, I think I’m happy with what I’ve ended up with.

Much like my predecessors, I have elected to separate Coal City and La Delta, and in fact ignore any attempt by the game to convince me that La Delta is west of Martinaise. It just… It just isn’t.

She is the tide in your head, a ghost woven from neon and ash. Dolores Dei — that vengeful saint — shapes herself in your fragmented memory marsh in her absence. She is the reflection you catch in a drunken haze, the intermittent love poem in the static of the radio. Your dialogue never ends in the theater of your mind: she spits out scalding judgments with cold lips, while you kneel in the trench of your consciousness, collecting every letter she drops. This skeleton of ANIMA is both the love letter you never sent and the red bolt that pierces your chest. She lets revolution and love sleep together in the cradle of your wound.

POV: When Harrier was hungover on the streets of Revachol

During the mission, Harrier and Jean decided to split up. Harrier ended up in a bar, drunk, perhaps on impulse, or perhaps just trying to soothe his worries. Jean discovered a key to the case and, unable to reach him by phone, thus he searched the streets to find him. Eventually, at dawn, he found Harrier lying on the street diagonally across from Frittte’s headquarters and tried to kick him awake.

The background architecture references some Brutalist styles and settings of DE.

Perhaps due to the numerous difficulties of this mission, Harrier-Jean partners got stuck in a bottleneck. They started smoking as soon as they got on the elevator. Under the cold light, the smoke surrounded them, giving them a strange sense of relief.
