Since I’m a FREAK and love imagining AUs, here’s my take on Aida gameplay wise :3
Found first in upper hunters march (in the room that connects to the sprint spire), where they warn them pharloom is expecting them, and congratulate hornet for making it this far
Aida - “Spiders child, of those who dared to flee, I’m sure pharloom has given thee a warming welcome.”
Hornet - “these wilds are sure giving me a welcome alright, but enough of that, state your purpose pale one” “I can see you gripping your spear tight”
Aida - “now now, at ease, spider. For it is not you I seek, not now at the very least, hmhmm…”
Aida - “I have kept my eyes upon thou ever since your great tumble from our grand steps, such a climb is impressive, I commend thee”
Hornet - “if you’re here just to flirt, I ask you keep it short”
Aida - “hohohuuu~ you entertain me, spider, go, continue your climb by fang, claw, and paws, there is so much you still haven’t seen…” (then they javelin throw their spear, and dart off)
They meet again at the bridge connecting the blasted steps and shellwood, where Aida sits looking over the edge, playing a string that’s strung across their spear like a viola
Hornet - “you again… couldn’t resist my charms, now could you”
Aida - “alas, you enamor me too much to keep it inside, spiders child” “I ask you show me, show me you have what it takes to bear the truth, of what lurks above, of the web that entangles us all”
Hornet - “I accept your challenge, the wilds have failed to take me, and you too shall fail”
Aida “of course… (they then mutter under their breath) “I won’t let them have you…”
Aida starts off by stringing a web that connects the bridge back together, careful as this web can be broken if hornet pogos off it too much. If it does break, Aida will cast a spell to string it back together after 10-15 seconds (they are immortal during that brief period)
Aida is more of a spellblade, and likes to stay at medium range, if hornet is too close for too long, they’ll increase aggression till she leaves the range for at least three seconds
They’ll often jump into the air and weave spells, ranging from pale nails that lock onto hornets position, webs that extend and trap hornet for two seconds, allowing for big damage she can’t escape from, and along with the classic phantom slam and parry, variants of those will be mixed in to keep hornet on her paws (get it because spiders don’t have toes… whatever)
With phase two starting, the wind kicks up, and both petals and sand swirl around the battlefield, Aida grips their spear with both hands, and, with runes now visible on their blade, start spamming sharpdart to dash left and right across the screen. Getting hit by this will do two damage, and they’ll grab hornet, leeching five silk from her spool vampire style.
Speaking of which, at the end of most combos (snd as just part of their moveset) they’ll lunge forward with their hand out and attempt to grab hornet, if successful they’ll bite down and drain five silk from her spool.
Upon defeat, they fall off the bridge, in the background you can see them launch their spear into the wall, and then dart away.
do not. give me more cool ideas- the urge to draw is becoming too strong to resist- oh no (jk, this is so interesting, I'm glad my silly designs inspired such elaborate ideas!)
