Dance Ecology: Skin(s) Cradle
We sensed the potential for more, for dance to be surprising, intriguing and independent. So we went for it.
In Skin(s) Cradle the Dancer works as a Live Sculptor in action. She is the sculptor and the sculpture working on herself as a dance. The work is based on thinking of interphases and independent intelligent systems. It is also a tribute the passion and complexity of female artists such as Louise Bourgeois working in the male dominated art field. Reclaiming authority on more than just the gaze.
Dance as an organic cycle of metamorphosis. A cycle emergence and decay of shape and identity.
While dancing and interacting with the choreographic interphase and the process of Live Sculpture, learning from the world we live in - biological, technological, artistic, mystic- the choreography it self is a structure to supporting new life forms, self-sustained, organic and intelligent.
