2016, New Year, Fresh Start
I see I abandoned this blog back in June, so I'm guessing I gave up on the whole workout thing a few weeks after. I let myself fall so, so bad, and I'm so mad at myself for it. But then again, I was struggling with depression and that really messed with my progress. I think I can handle myself a little better this year, or at least I'm going to give it a damn better try than I did last year. I NEED to because I FEEL unhealthy. This is body image issues aside. This is me needing to not feel like I'm 10-20 years older than I really am. This isn't losing weight for the sake of "looking better." This is making better habits for the sake of FEELING better. Eventually fitting into all my pre-bank job clothes would be a really nice bonus though. Point is, I promised myself after Christmas and the sea of endless jewelry orders was over, I would get back on the workout thing. I get paid next week and hopefully I can take a little something out to get myself a copy of Just Dance 2016 so I have a whole new set of music to motivate me. I also hope to *gasp* work myself up to using actual workout mode! :D Anyways! Today is a day for relaxing, so that's what I'm going to do. I probably won't keep up this blog as obsessively as I tried to do last year, but I will definitely pop in from time to time to track the progress I will hopefully be making. First thing's first, I will take my starting measurements and post those. Again, we still don't have a scale, so I'm not sure how I'll be keeping track of weight yet... But I'm doing this. Like Shia LeBeouf says, JUST DO IT!!! (Pfffttt. Yes. Yes I just did that.) ~ Sarai (Inspired by Koto's post on doing better this year. She has her own fitness blog over at @fitnessmonstur (? xkit mobile why aren't you doing the blog linking thing damn it) We can do this! :3)

Okay, so... Improvement! Hit a pretty low point early in the month that made me change the way I run this blog, but in turn I made other changes that have helped for the better. My birthday wasn't as bad as I’d been dreading. Quite the opposite, actually, I had a pretty good day and so many of my friends gave me well wishes and made my day really special.
As far as those changes I made... I bought myself a Baymax (Big Hero 6) water bottle to use at work. It’s 25oz, so I count it as 2 glasses of water, and it has Baymax on it, so it’s like he reminds me I need to drink water for my health. My water intake has thus improved dramatically, but I still struggle to remember to drink water on my days off. Also, in my quest to eat less junk food (which I usually eat at work), I bought a box of Wheat Thins, a box of Triscuits, a box of crackers, and a bag of caramel rice cakes as healthier options when I’m craving something crunchy and/or sweet.

So I bought myself a Baymax water bottle and I’ve been using that to drink water at work. I count it as 2 cups and honestly? It’s actually been helping. Between last week and this week I’ve been drinking more water in general than I have the past few months! I don’t know if it’s just having a bottle as opposed to a cup that helps or if it’s because it’s Baymax and that in a silly way reminds me I need to drink more water to be healthier? *shrugs* Either way, it’s really helping, so hopefully that water count will start going up more!
