Week 6: Latin Night thoughts blog
Hello, it’s Cal and welcome to my first ever thoughts blog.
Ryan- Not his best but I really enjoyed it. It was so fun to watch. I loved the glow in the dark part. He just needs a little more hip action. My score 8.
Terra- First of all, their package was so cute and funny. I really liked this Paso. Everything was really good. Their costumes were amazing! My score 9.
Amber- I thought this was her best dance so far. It was very cha cha and I liked it! She just needed a little more fire. My score 7.
James- Their package was amazing!! OMG! This dance was so sexy, hot and powerful. I loved it so much. I can watch it all day long. My score 9.
Marilu- Really good! I enjoyed this ch cha so much. Very fun and she looked very confident. I loved it! My score 8.
Jana- HOT HOT HOT!! This dance was so hot and sexy! Omg!! I loved it so much. Definitely my favorite dance of her’s and of the night. They slayed that AT. It was PERFECT!! My score 10.
Maureen- Very classic samba and I loved it! A lot of samba content and I loved it! The costumes were great and I loved her positivity and happiness. My score 7.
Calvin- The flips, flicks and kicks were great. His toes were fabulous. That was a very good AT. I enjoyed it a lot! My score 9.
Laurie- Wow! Laurie ended the show with a BANG! Her salsa was amazing! I loved everything about it and it was so fun to watch. The only bad thing I have to say is I saw her mess up one step but other than that. I loved it! My score 9.
And I just have to add one more thing. The costumes were amazing!! I loved everyone’s costumes last night. Also, I loved the opening number! Probably one of my favorite Latin Night!

Big news coming
So, this is insane: The official interview with Marilu Henner of Team Hennergy will be finishing this week! Marilu and Derek are safe which is a good thing. A really good thing. We're at a standstill stage right now but it's happening. <3
Since joining Dancing with the Stars during its sophomore season, Maksim Chmerkovskiy has become one of the most recognizable pros to grace the dance floor. He even won a Mirrorball trophy during Season 18 when he competed with Olympic ice dancer Meryl Davis. Currently he’s vying for gold with Amber Rose, but win or lose, when Season 24 debuts in 2017, don’t expect to see him hitting the set.
“Honestly I feel like going on the record and saying two things,” he exclusively told The Daily Dish. “First of all, like I’ve already said, I’m having the best time of my life on Dancing with the Stars. It’s a known fact. I’ve said it. I was quoted as saying the production is on point. I feel the love. I feel like everybody’s so friendly [and] we all work for the same goal, [which] is to keep dancing in television and produce a beautiful show. Having said that, I’m telling you right now I have zero interest in coming back as a dancer [next season].”
Maks has stepped away from the show before. He took a break between seasons 15 and 18. Following season 18, he took a second hiatus until this current season. He cites the show being “uberstressful” as one of the reasons he’s contemplating another break. Well that, and the fact that he and fiancée/fellow pro dancer Peta Murgatroyd will soon be parents and newlyweds. They plan to wed in the summer 2017.
“I’m going to have a newborn baby. I have zero want to do this. I promise you that,” he said.“It’s been it for me two years ago. I never thought I’d be back here in this position. I’m glad I am. I promise, I’m so glad that I made this decision. But like I said [I’m] looking forward. The baby comes in January and then a month-and-a-half later I would have to be in L.A. to start training with somebody else. Trust me, I really don’t care how this comes across, but there’s no money on the planet that can replace me missing out the three, four, five months of my baby’s life. Zero chance. I can’t wait for all of this, diapers, and all of this stuff. I cant wait for Peta to pursue her goals and whatever and I just want to be a stay-at-home dad.”
I don't blame him to be honest. Being a parent is just incredible and he wouldn't want to miss anything.
My Most Memorable Year.
Well, so the Dancing with the Stars cast get to talk about their "Most Memorable Year" .. the fans should too.. I think it would be neat for the fans to talk about their MMY's also. So.. yeah here's mine.... I chose the year 2010. My most memorable year would have to be 2010. Why? I chose 2010 as my most memorable year because of how it impacted who I am today. My story begins right after my fourteenth birthday, two months and six days after to be exact. Everything was all happy and exciting, until April 19th when it wasn't anymore. My 2010 was flipped upside down in a very hard way. It was April 19th, and my life got flipped upside down when my grandmother (I called her nana) was diagnosed with cancer. Yeah that sounds sad, but it really was..she was like a second mom to me growing up. My mother she was a single mom of two kids, my brother who is older than me and I. She helped my mother out when she was working daily to give us the best life possible.. My mother told me "Your nana has cancer." And those words made my heart sink into my stomach. I was heartbroken. I knew what cancer was and I knew that it was going to be a rocky road. Nana, she continued to fight her fight and her health was deteriorating.. It wasn't until June 16th, 2010 her cancer took a dangerous turn.. I was with her during one afternoon, she was staying at my place because she wouldn't stay at a hospital as it wasn't comfortable for her. She was getting up, and she had to use the bathroom and of course she was quite dizzy whilst walking to the bathroom... there I was, trying to help her and then the most scariest thing occurred and she took a tumble and fell head first onto the bathroom floor, hitting her head on the toilet. All I remember after her fall, was screaming to my mother or father for help.. I was sobbing, I couldn't even believe what I saw that afternoon and i had my phone with me the whole time in my pocket as I was just checking my Facebook. My mother, she ran downstairs to see what was wrong and she saw nana on the floor after she fainted. My mother called an ambulance which then would take my nana to the hospital for then they would run tests on her. That's when they announced her cancer was now terminal... meaning she only had an allotted time left with us..it broke my heart into a million pieces.... As her health got worse and worse, it was now September - three months after the fall.. She was getting ready to leave the world, and I remember my mother calling me just so I could speak to nana... They gave her the phone, as the hospital staff allowed it and I had a good 30 minute conversation with her that cool September morning... I was just getting out the door as I was setting off to school.. I was in grade 10 that year.... I remember then thinking "Is this the last time I'll ever speak with her again?" And sadly enough, it was the final conversation I'd ever have with her. She passed away at 9:29AM, on September 27th 2010 as a result of her cancer fight ending up winning against her. My mother then called the school, saying that I'd have to be picked up early from school that day.. it was about 1:33PM and all I was wondering.. "Am I going to see Nana?" Or "Where am I going?"... and then my father came to get me and I left to go home. My mother, when I got home she had been crying.. her face a blood red.. and I knew that it was the end of a courageous fight. She told me that my nana had passed away that morning.. and as she told me that, my heart broke again.. and my tears kept flowing down... I had lost one of the most important people in my life... and it was scary... Then I remember, calling my principal at school in tears telling her I had to take the rest of the week off and they understood... The funeral was October 1st, only four days later and I remember crying. She was my best friend, other than my older brother... Years after her death, were harder and harder.. especially in 2013, when I was to graduate high school that year... It was especially hard for me because she wouldn't be there for me like she was for my brother three four years previous to my graduation. It's still hard for me and I know that its going to be hard... And one day, if I ever get to do DWTS, I will dedicate every single performance to her... I'd be doing this for her, as she would be proud of me for whatever choices I made. This made me cry by the way to be honest, I miss her so much. And I wish cancer would be cured... 3 -Shay (@SharnaKeoLove on Twitter)

Nyle remembers lol:
Ryan Lochte: Why I'm sick of his haters. {10.10.16} To be very honest, I'm sick of the people who are constantly always putting Ryan in his place over his scandal in Rio de Janeiro this past summer. Really? He made a fucking mistake, and he's paying for it. Yeah, we all know that he and his friends said they were robbed at gunpoint..and then the Rio cops discovered that was a lie.... Ryan Lochte, yes he made a fucking mistake.. no; it doesn't mean you can bash him for it. He's human; just like you and I. He made a mistake. Everybody does, we all learn from them and thats a part of learning and growing. Lochte, he and some of his friends on his US Swimming team stopped at a gas station this past summer and they did something bad.... They went to a gas station, and they vandalized the place.. which caused worldwide controversy because of their behaviors. He over-exaggerated a situation to make it seem like it was a big deal.. and yeah it was a big deal about what happened... Did he kill anyone? No. He didn't. Did his friends kill anyone? No..they didn't.... They made a mistake and now Ryan has to live with this for the rest of his life... people will stop him on the streets and be absolutely mean to him and do things they'll regret.. but it doesn't mean that Ryan and his friends are dangerous offenders that could kill someone in the future. They made a mistake, and they're apologizing for it... They're thinking about what they've done.. Get over it.. Does this affect you in a physical, mental, emotional way? No it doesn't. It has nothing to do with you... PERIOD. We need to be forgiving of Ryan before he dances for another few weeks. He and Cheryl Burke are an incredible team and they deserve respect. Ryan deserves respect. He's an incredible soul.. He's learning some fun stuff in the ballroom on the show.... So lets just forgive Ryan, move on and keep watching the show. He's having a great time with his partner, and that's all that matters. Isn't it? Having fun.. doing something fun... and being part of a new family of amazing new friends. That's all that matters. Now we all can move on and just vote for Ryan to do his best each week. -Shay
