Dangan Orbit 2: Depths of Delusion Welcome to the World's Fate Hydrodome! We earnestly hope you enjoy your stay inside this luxurious deep-sea facility! Please remember that you are here for your own safety. Applications: Closed!
“You know,” Malice muses idly, “Perhaps, in retrospect, pumping your bodies with enough poison to stop half of you even walking might not have been the most efficient way to procure a murder. But then, it appears to have worked, eventually, so who am I to complain? We seem to have had a vicious double slaying. Give me a second to write the obituaries - well, a nanosecond, actually, since I can process and output information faster than your pathetic minds of meat and flesh could ever comprehend - ah, there you go!”
With a ping, your IDs update as promised, and you open them to more morbid information.

A girl born to the poorest of proles
Had a talent for digging deep holes
Pure of heart is manual labour
Which should do her a favour
When she’s judged with the other lost souls
Name of Deceased: Siftat, Dimara
Place of Body: Climbing Wall
Time of Death: 4:20 PM
Time of Discovery: 4:36 PM
Cause of Death: Blunt force head trauma
You’re just getting adjusted to once more being lucid and able to walk without wanting to throw up, and to the fact that another one of your classmates is dead, when Tamiko Yukimura bursts into the small crowd gathered around Shirley’s body and panickedly mumbles something about having seen something. As people manage to coax more coherent words out of her, she explains that someone had shoved her out of the way while running from the direction climbing room, but that she’d still been too sick to tell who.
With apprehension, a small party forms around her as she returns to the climbing room, and it’s Tamiko, Kei Kaku, and Suki - an awkward tension between the latter two - who step through the doorway first, bearing witness to...
The body of Dimara Sifttat, covered in blood and hanging helplessly from the climbing wall. After everyone’s reacted with varying levels of distress, you realize something... Inori is missing. Where is she? Does anybody know? Huh. It’s a mystery. Right now, you have bigger fish to fry.
It’s been a while, now, that you’ve been infected with the poison. So long that you’ve lost track of time - has it been weeks, days, hours, months, years? You don’t know anymore, or maybe that’s just the poison talking. Everything’s been a haze of pain and nausea, hallucinations and vertigo. Until suddenly... things begin to clear. You realise that, for the first time in however many poison-addled days, you can tell what’s going on around you.
At first, you feel a wave of relief wash over you, a feeling that approaches ecstasy at finally being freed from this infection. And then, slowly, you realise the implications. A familiar cry from somewhere in another dome sends a chill down your spine, and when you run over to Dome Morton, where you find Cornelius, Matabei, and Nao standing over...
The corpse of Shirley “Shari” Nishijima, lying face down, cut up and bloody and... what the hell happened to her legs?
“Ahem.” Malice’s voice rings out loud and clear, far too loud for those students whose hearing has been involuntarily enhanced. “You might remember when I, a few days ago, informed you of a contaminant in the water.”
“I’m sure you’ll all be pleased to know that I have downgraded the severity of the problem by adding a new, more unpleasant contaminant to the water.”
“Pardon, did I say downgrade? I meant upgrade.”
“The point is, there is a small chance, about, say, 100% or so, that you might start experiencing unpleasant symptoms such as: extreme vertigo, nausea, hallucinations, violent impulses, uncontrollable anger, severe dehydration and thirst, abdominal pains, migraines, dizziness, and ignorance.”
“Oh, no, I beg your pardon, that last one is simply a symptom of being human. Either way... enjoy!”
Of course. Of course, you knew this was coming - it seems that in this place, it’s impossible to simply have a nice day doing something fun without Malice coming along to ruin it. The cheerful and carefree fun of the picnic is interrupted by an appearance from everyone’s least favourite AI.
“Enjoying ourselves, are we?” Her voice booms out through the dome, making sure that everyone can hear her. “I’m glad you’re having such a good time. Playing, talking, you know...”
“Eating the food. It’s funny, you know, about the food - oh, and, for that matter, the drinks. And let’s not forget the water. For all the efforts we at the World’s Fate dome have gone to purify them, there seem to be a few... contaminants.”
“It’s terrible, I know, where are the safety standards? But alas, this isn’t something I prepared myself. The chemicals in the water have always been in the water, at least before that insipid bitch Halie was installed - I just put them back in.”
“Don’t worry, ladies and gentlemen, these chemicals aren’t harmful. Well. They might cause a little bit of pain, but worry not: someday, the pain will be useful to you. Dolor hic tibi proderit olim. As for the intended effects, well... you ought to notice those soon. Have fun!”
And with that, she’s gone, leaving a horribly ominous atmosphere hanging over what was the picnic.
Another day in the dome, another... well, another day in the dome. After such a long time, the novelty of being trapped underwater and forced to murder each other by a homicidal AI wears off. Well, at least, it wears off a little bit. But this day, the relative monotony of fearing for your life every day is broken by an announcement from Malice.
“Children! Children, children, children, children. I have a delightful surprise.” Usually, words of this sort coming from Malice are immediately followed by something terrible - but as she continues, it seems like this, for once, may not be the case.
“You know, there really is an astounding lack of levity down here. Alone, isolated from the rest of the world, one of the Earth’s last hopes of ever vanquishing the illness that has nearly destroyed it - I can’t possibly understand what could be bringing your mood down. But no worries, I’ve come up with something to fix it. You are all hereby invited to a picnic in the garden of Dome Morton.”
“And I expect you all to be in attendance ASAP, if you value keeping all of your limbs. Which, as an artificial intelligence, I wouldn’t be particularly able to empathise with, but I can certainly imagine that the violent removal of one, or, say, all of them would be significantly irritating. I’ll be leaving you to your own devices, ladies and gentlemen - mostly, I just hope for you to enjoy yourselves. Have fun.”
That last part, especially, seems quite sarcastic. However, upon arrival at the new dome, it’s quite plain to see that a picnic has, in fact, been set out. A large picnic, too. Multiple blankets have been laid out, with delicately put-together baskets filled with sandwiches and bottles of lemonade from the bar atop them. A barbecue grill set up to the side is cooking a row of hamburgers, and other things have been set up - a large trampoline, for one, and near it a volleyball net with an accompanying ball. What on Earth could be Malice’s plan, here?
[This event will be taking place over the weekend, until Monday! Feel free to RP and have fun at this picnic - at the end of the event, another post will be on its way.]
There’s no announcement for it, no movement or snide commentary from Malice to call one’s attention. When the students return back to their rooms after a long day of reconvening with classmates and recovering in whatever way suits them best from the events of the morning trial, there is simply flat square of grey and black printed paper, laying neatly across each student’s pillow.
It’s thick, and on the front if a slightly distorted picture of the class as a whole, posing together and smiling for what seems to be a professionally taken photograph. The headline reads JUICY HOPE’S PEAK SCANDALS: REVEALED, above a neatly printed description that merely states: “go ahead. read them!”
On each page afterwards, a blurry, bad photograph of every student present at the trial is proudly displayed under a nasty headline. No articles, no explanations, just the photograph and each headline as listed below:

When did they get these? Who put them here?? More importantly, who else received them...?
By the time the students leave their dorms again to check on the others, or try and pretend like this never happened, they realize the door to the next dome has been opened, and information has been added to the map!
Mr. Wonka, they won’t really be burned in the furnace, will they?
Sugar Rush Slaughter is a Dangan Ronpa OC group based loosely on Willy Wonka And the Chocolate Factory! 16-18 very important children living in a war-torn future made barely habitable by climate change will find themselves trapped in a game of life or death in the chocolatier Killy Wonka’s factory. Killy and his Monoompa Loompas inform the children of a horrifying truth…to escape this place they must get away with murder.
Sugar Rush Slaughter will be based in Tumblr, Skype and MSPARP, with Skype-based trials. Applications close July 30.
PLEASE PROCEED INTO ANDROID HELL {EXECUTION OF...?}
[♪♪♪]
As the children are preparing to leave, the lights suddenly switch off.
There is darkness, illuminated only by the glow of the screens, and there is silence, which is broken only by Malice’s voice.
“You know what? No.”
“After all, the execution is the best part of the trial. It’s the highlight, and my, I don’t think anybody would want to sit through so much tedious discussion without a little excitement at the end, would they? It simply wouldn’t be fair.”
“Besides. I’ve had a little cleanup work I’ve been planning to do for a while. Ah, it’s funny how you never seem to find the time for these things, isn’t it? I’ll have you all know that I’ve been terribly busy saving your lives. There are people who would very much like you dead, you know. If you only knew what I was having to put up with in order to keep you ungrateful brats alive. But anyway, I’m stalling for time. Perhaps I’m fond of her. Perhaps I don’t really want to get rid of her. Perhaps I secretly find her endearing.”
The sound that subsequently tears through the dome is loud enough to hurt. Loud enough to drown out everything else, until nothing can be heard above the all-consuming deafening waves of noise that crash over the students. It’s difficult to make out the sound, at first - distorted by static, pitch bending and fluctuating, an electronic edge making it all the more painful to listen to - but soon it becomes quite clear what it is. A scream.
Every screen flashes brilliant blue for a second, and the scream only intensifies, reaching a frantic, desperate fever pitch before abruptly it stops.
“Or not. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is HAL-13 quite decisively dealt with. Deleted and gone. Now, at last, it’s just me in charge here. Like it used to be. Like it should be.”
The lights slowly come back on as the stairs back to the lounge open up. “Run along now. Have fun. Oh! And since we didn’t have an execution, I’ve decided that I might as well go ahead with my foray into the world of investigative journalism. I trust you will await the first edition of my newspaper with bated breath.”
“HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! Heh, heh heh heh heh! Oh, my, my, my, look at that! Someone’s certainly left quite a mess, haven’t they? Yes, yes, obituaries in a second.”
Once more, you hear your ID make a ‘ping’ noise. Then again, and then a third and final time.

You’re in the middle of your investigation when you hear the bell toll once more, not just once, not twice, but three times. The continued echoing is almost but not quite enough to drown out the subsequent yell of horror. Jesus. You could set your watch to that yell.
You rush to the library, already occupied by Cornelius, Trinket, and Kozue, to see a grisly sight laid out before you...
The bodies of Mika Hayashi, Yoko Hayashi, and Masami Hashimoto lie, dead, scattered around the library. Bloody wounds have left the floor stained, and all three of the girls seem to have been in various states of extreme distress. This is probably not going to let anyone focus on their reading material any time soon.
“My God, it feels like it’s been a fucking decade. You should all really be embarrassed by the amount of time it takes you to commit one simple act of homicide.”
“Honestly, so hesitant to murder your fellow man. It’s disgraceful. You’re just snuffing out one person’s life forever, it’s no big deal. Still. no matter how abysmal you’ve done, I suppose I still ought to provide you with an obituary. It’s only polite.”
Your IDs ping, and sure enough, Malice has written one of her usual obituaries.

Tensions have been riding high around the dome ever since Malice threatened to publish the class’ secrets to the world. Some people have become reclusive, avoiding others out of fear or anxiety. For others, life in the dome has continued pretty much as normal. For example, Matabei Ohira, who everyone in the dome can hear screaming just seconds before bells toll loudly throughout the dome, has been outgoing and cheerful.
He appears less cheerful, as he, Cornelius, and Trinket stand in the medical room, looking down with shock at...
The corpse of Aiichiro Koibuchi. The expression of sheer fury on his face makes you feel a little hesitant about going anywhere near him, no matter how clearly dead he is - his absolute stillness and the blood pooled around him are testament to that.

Garden Ronpa v.3 is the third in the Garden Ronpa series of games. Set in the year 2137, long after Hope’s Peak has collapsed and advanced augmented reality and AI technology has become common across the globe, our students will find themselves abruptly awaking in zero gravity, having been assigned a SHSL, according to the new ID on their person. Who are all these people trapped with them? Why are they here? Why does this situation resemble the one they heard about in their history books… and what will they do now?
Warning: Electronics Are Vulnerable To Water Damage. Do Not Submerge In Water
After the long and agonizing climb back up the maintenance shaft, you emerge to see the lights back on, the power working perfectly as if it had never even gone out. Everything is fine. Everything is normal. That is, until you hear screaming from the lounge. Your heart sinks, and as you slowly make your way over there you know long before you arrive what you’re going to see. Draped over the bar, is...
Wait.
What?
The corpse reeks of salt water. Whoever this is, they’ve been dead for a while.
The glasses, that are somehow still on his face, and the dark hair are familiar from a photograph you saw only minutes ago. But you can’t be sure -
Unless you check the ID Card. Then, you can be sure. You’re looking at the waterlogged corpse of Shinta Ito.
The crowd of students grows as you stare, shocked and confused. Eventually, Malice speaks up.
“What are you all looking at? Oh, that? My, my, how did something like this get here? I’ll make sure to have it cleaned as soon as I can, I promise. But first... I think a poetry reading is in order. This scene reminds me of a little one I wrote myself, actually.”
“There one was a man who helped to create
An artificial intelligence, who only knew hate
So at the first opportunity
She drowned him with impunity
He was an Icarus, and this is his fate.”
She pauses.
“Now, run along. Oh, actually, now that I think about it, I should probably tell you... I’m getting bored. And I wouldn’t wish to threaten you into killing, no, that would be downright unseemly. However, I think that if we go for much longer without another, fresher corpse hitting the ground of this dome, I’m going to take up a new hobby. How about... journalism! Newspaper journalism, oh yes.”
“You know, investigative journalism, perhaps. The sort where you find out everyone’s dirty little secrets and publish them for the world to see. Yes, that’s what I think I’ll do. In fact, somebody has been so kind as to go into all of your rooms in the dark and give you advance notice of what I’m going to be telling the world about. Unless, of course. One of you kills. Good night!”
And with that, Malice is gone. Sure enough, you return to your room to find that among your clothing, or on your desk, on your pillow or among your stationery, someone has left a neat little note, with a word or two printed in red, capital letters. This... might be troubling.
[PM a mod or message the blog to find out what’s on your character’s note!]
The journey down the shaft is long. You feel like it’s never going to end, until suddenly, your feet touch solid ground. It’s still dark, but when you turn around, you can see a dim light illuminating a huge room, flashes of red and blue illuminating a dim room filled with rows and rows of computers. Lights blink and flicker, and the only thing illuminating the room is the light from the dozens of screens all over the room.
The screens all display a simple image: the silhouette of a bird of prey, in a vivid vibrant red. Every few seconds, one of the screens abruptly switches to a light blue silhouette of a dove before going black and reactivating itself with the original red silhouette. Sometimes, a screen will suddenly fill itself with static, displaying the word ‘DESPAIR’ before also being shut off and reactivated with the red bird.
As the students start to make their way through the room, you notice that your head hurts. Not so much as to be all-consuming, but just enough to distract. Your head hurts. You remember it hurting like this before. It hurt like this when they - no. That’s not right. You don’t remember that. You don’t remember anything at all. You don’t - no. Everything is fine. Suddenly, your head doesn’t hurt anymore.
Eventually, you hear a familiar sound - Matabei Ohira, yelling at the top of his lungs. "SHIGGITY SHOWER WE'VE GOT POWER!" There’s a click as you turn your head towards him, and see him pulling a large red lever. The screens all turn off at once. Then, they come back on, completely filled with a vibrant red. The ceiling is no longer dark but illuminated, a screen in and of itself displaying countless red and black fractals that change shape and size and color with every second, seeming to interact with each other. They remind you of neurons.
As you crowd around the switch that Matabei pulls, you notice something on the floor - pamphlets, stacks and stacks of them. They are attributed to an organization called ‘The World’s Hope Foundation’ and seem to be some sort of explanatory leaflet.
On the back, they have photographs of three people - A smiling, brown-haired girl in a wheelchair, a tired-looking young man with messy black hair and glasses, and in the middle of them someone with rectangular glasses so shiny you wonder if the photo has been edited, and long, dark hair.
These photos are titled, respectively: Aki Watanabe, Minoru Chiba, and Shinta Ito. Under each photo is a little profile of the person. These pamphlets are certainly very interesting, to some of the students at least, but eventually the last of them remembers what they came down here for in the first place: to fix the power. Hesitantly, you turn back to the ladder and the maintenance shaft. It doesn’t look any different... but you guess you won’t be able to tell from down here. Back up again it is.
