☁ -Does your character enjoy Hydread? Is Iunctum very different from their hometown, or just about the same?

Mm, Kiri enjoys Hydread! It’s pretty similar to his hometown, in that there’s a lot of technology and it can get pretty crowded at times - but it seems as if things at Hydread get even busier, and the schools feel more serious. There’s also a lot less of a focus on buddyfight, and he isn’t quite sure on how to adapt to that.

✸ - How is your character adjusting to their new life? Do they find what the government is doing necessary or pointless?

Kiri’s adjusting pretty well, but he still can’t help but miss his friends and family. He likes Iunctum well enough, and his new family is nice, but he still finds himself wishing that he could see his loved ones again. He can see the logic behind what the government’s doing, but he kind of wishes that they’d let them pick for themselves who they want to date - he has nothing against his current fiancé, he just wants to be assured that his fiancé is one he’ll like no matter what.

Nope, Kiri was completely single back home! He didn’t quite think he was ready for a relationship, and he was too nervous to ask either way. He’s fine with it - albeit a little unsure about the relationship he’s been sorted into.

     Well, happy birthday wasn’t something to expect but either way, being able to save the other from being squashed was a feat in itself. Of course, there were some repercussions in where Jack had used his tail to life back up the bookcase and all the books that were scattered on the floor would have needed to be well, picked up. His buddy looking down on them as the shop’s owner only raised a hand to his head, almost stating that he was getting a headache from things like this.

     Picking himself up, he noticed a band-aid given his way and because of that. The officer had taken it before seeing that the other was in a bit of a bind himself. Handing it back, "I think this is more for you than me." It was true, the other was bleeding more than him and that would need to be fixed rather than anything else. Tasuku was a person who looked out for others, not them looking out for him. Generally, when Jack finally got the shelf back up with no worries and the manager now picking up the books, Tasuku grabbed the one that he saw Kiri was searching for the whole time.

     ”All that matters is that you’re okay, you know?” Handing the book to Kiri and then pointing at the bit of blood that was trailing down, “It’s nothing bad but you may want to watch out for that.” Looking around the area and then signaling Jack to go on before him, he gave a nod. It really did look like a wolf came through here and tore it all up. Closing his eyes and seeing what the manager was stuck with doing,

"I hope you kids do know, you’ll have to stay over and clean some of this up. Look at my displays. RUINED. GAGA NO.. NO GAGA.."

     "…Well.." Looking at Kiri after hearing the manager’s words, “If you want, I could clean up and you could just read a few books.”

"Ah!" touching his nose and immediately noticing the blood, he went white and nodded, pulling a tissue out of his pocket and covering his nose. "I- I'm sorry....!! I get nosebleeds pretty easily, so..... It's really nothing to worry about!"

Staring at the other gently for a moment, he blinked and shook his head adamantly. "I- I can't let you do that! It's my fault this happened, so I need to clean it all up....."  Crawling forward and placing his book safely in his pocket where he couldn't lose it again, he picked up a few books - checking over them carefully to make sure that they weren't damaged before placing them gently back in the shelves. 

Kind of spacing out while doing so, he smiled and began to sort them into alphabetical order. "Hey, Mr Tasuku? Do you like to read?" he asked, giving the other a curious look. From what he had heard on the net, the blue haired boy prioritised his work over everything else, and his schedule was always jam-packed - he didn't know he had the free time to go shopping. Being a police officer sounds cool... he mused, staring at the other curiously. Maybe I should join the police force, too.... Maybe then, I'll become strong.....

Personally, he found it a bit hilarious to watch the other male plead for the book. He almost felt sorry for him, almost. The book he was longing for was right close to his grasp but he couldn’t quite reach it. It was like him at one point on a much deeper level than just a book, especially with his words.

With his entertainment soon coming to an end, he dropped the book once he was finished speaking. His smile only seemed to growing, not in kindness but arrogance and overall satisfied with the reaction and answer.

“Here you go. Though, just reading from a book won’t make you stronger. Being someone on the field, actually fighting will make you stronger. People who stand on the sideline, thinking they know everything because they read it or saw it are pathetic and will remain weak.” His lips shaped into a proud sneer.

The young teenager was certainly vain to the full extent especially for all he had accomplished. He was once at an unsatisfactory level but he didn’t let them dim his savage determination to win and to become the best. At the current moment, he had potential to improve but as of right now, he was at a tolerable level.

“Hey Kiri,” he didn’t know how exactly he managed to remember the kid’s name but he did. “you do use Danger World and you just said you wanted to become stronger, my old offer still stands. I can teach you to become stronger if you’re honestly willing. I actually see potential in you.”

Clumsily catching the book as Rouga dropped it, he dusted it off and carefully looked over it to make sure that it was ok. You had to be careful with books; if they ripped apart or got damaged, it would make it hard to read it again, and Kiri definitely did not want that. Books were precious, and had once been the only things he could consider friends.

Drooping a bit at the other's words, he hugs the book to his chest and nervously shakes his head in disagreement. "I... I don't think that's entirely true....." he mumbles, giving the male in front of him a troubled little look. "Knowledge you gain from books is just as important as experience. I mean- experience is important too, but....... Wouldn't it help one to become stronger if they were to read things and learn and see what they were doing wrong in the past by reading about it?"

Blinking in surprise, Kiri perks up a bit at that offer. "Would you really?" he scratched his cheek, looking somewhat humbled at that last part. "Y- You do? I- I've never been good or had potential at anything, though..." Coughing a bit as he realised he hadn't actually accepted the other's offer yet, he nods and puts on a determined look. "I- I still want to become strong...! Please teach me!"

Though, Kiri couldn't help but wonder how he was going to be taught. Would he make him go to the gym and get stronger that way? Would he make him fight against him without sleeping until he won? Kiri was kind of looking forward to it, all things considered.

Red eyes search the shelves in silence as the boy strolls through the store nonchalantly. With a small hum under his breath, he casually browses what the store has in stock, though he didn’t really come to buy, so nothing really piques his interest. Just a way to shave off some of his free time, really.

With that, he takes a quick glance at the nearby clock on the wall. Ah, what has his ‘mother’ said before- she wishes for Kyoya to be in time for dinner… Always- was it? He should probably stay true to that. Well, if anything he still had quite some time before he should head home.

A small tap on his shoulder makes him turn around; is he mistaken for a clerk, he wonders, when he is asked for help. However, he only meets with quite the familiar face! How interesting this is.

“Oh, do you need assistance? I never thought I’d run into you here, ah, what was your name… Hyoryu, was it?” with a kind smile, he follows the kid to the shelf, “This one, perhaps?”

He points to one of the books that were higher up. settled next to a few others, “An avid reader, or no? It’s a relaxing hobby, isn’t it, I love doing it myself.”

Blinking at the other, he tries to remember who he was for a moment. He definitely had seen him somewhere, though he couldn't place where. Those eyes were extremely familiar, he pondered - before he realised.

"You're Kyoya Gaen...!" He stared in surprise. "I- I was on your boat when the buddy rare went missing.... How do you remember my name....?" Had Kiri even told him his name, come to think of it? Maybe Kyoya just memorised everyone on his guest list's names out of boredom, like a real rich person with too much time on their hands. Truly amazing....  

Smiling gently, he nods and takes the book. "I- Reading is fun! Plus, this book is informational, too.... It's about how to tell who's a shady person and who's not just by their body language! It's so cool! It might even help me to become stronger, too......" Suddenly remembering that he hadn't thanked him yet, Kiri bowed and held the book to his chest. "Thank you for your help, Mr Kyouya...!!"

Minding his own business and finding a break for the time being, going to the store was a good option. He was sort of growing hungry from walking around and it was the closest convenient place, hence the name convenient store.

Once he stepped in, his eyes were drawn to a bright haired short kid which was oddly familiar. He didn’t pay mind to him though he noticed him having a struggle. Lacking in height, that often apparently happen, like Rouga would know. He chuckled and went to another aisle, collecting some food to eat.

Curious on whether or not he had given up his struggle, he approached the younger acquaintance. Not directly but stood in the same aisle, almost waiting for the other to recognize him.

With his speech and spacey atmosphere, it seemed like Kiri didn’t even realize it was him. With a click of his teeth that was supposed to be a laugh, he grinned with a ferocious, superior smile and snatched up the book with confidence.

“Isn’t that a bit rude to not recognize your fellow acquaintances?” He said with almost a sneer. He didn’t lower the book, he just kept it about the height where the shelf was located. His snacks were being held close to his body with his other arm.

Staring up at the other in sudden recognition, he blinked. He really hadn't recognised him from behind - was it the lack of spear? The fact that his back was turned to him? The fact that his shirt had sleeves?

"Rouga...!!" He stared, looking at the book above his head. "I- I'm sorry! I didn't notice that it was you!" He truly had been too deep in thought to realise - though the hair and the way that he stood should've given it away immediately. Kiri mentally chided himself for not noticing sooner, and resolved to do it next time. Looking from Rouga's face to the book again, he blinked.

It sure must be nice to be strong and tall and cool.... Kiri thought, spacing out for a bit as he imagined himself like that; no sleeves, a long mullet, two buddies, and most importantly - winning all his buddyfight challenges. I hope I'll be the same someday too.... Giving him a hopeful little look - maybe asking nicely would be all that it would take? Even if he was a lone wolf by nature, Rouga had to have some shred of buried sympathy for a small, weak person like him, right?

Holding out his hands, he raises his eyebrows. "C- Could I please have my book......? I- It's a book that'll help me become strong like you and Gao, so....!!" Jumping up again, he nods. "I need it!"

   Ideally, he would rather patrol the areas for criminals (like Rouga Aragami) but instead his higher up Natalia, had told him to visit the store and to read up on a few things. She said it was mostly for his safety and that what he needed to indulge in was a very private thing. So visiting this place that while it was very modern within the whole city, he would need to find where that certain book was placed. Most likely in the back room of the building so after speaking with someone at the counter for it, he felt a pat on his back as he saw a familiar face.

     ”Hm? Oh. well, this is a surprise.” He remembers the male from Gao’s group of friends, this one’s name wasn’t that lost upon him but it didn’t come as fast. A failure on his part which was true. Give Tasuku a few moment and when a light went off in his head, the policeman gave a snap of his fingers. "You’re the one named Kiri, aren’t you?" He asked as he was told the male’s problem.

     ”Too high, huh?” He stated, it was at that moment where Jack had appeared from out the back of the store where he was lead by someone else, a book in his hand that was ideal for Tasuku to read. Looking at his Buddy, “Jack do you mind?” A request given towards his Buddy Monster as he waited for what Kiri needed, "That book, well luckily Jack is tall enough." It was true, it would have been sad if his dragon wasn’t able to reach it. As Jack raised his tail to tip over the book so that Kiri could catch it did some roug(a)ish kids knock it over, the shelf off books tumbling towards Kiri.

     Quickly did Tasuku run forward, pushing Kiri out the way before the shelf was ultimately tumbled down upon the other. Truthfully from this, both of them would come crashing to the floor.

Kiri had met Tasuku before, oh yes. He had talked to him somewhat, and he definitely liked him, but the two had never really spoken one-on-one - and surprisingly enough, Kiri was somewhat vaguely starstruck. It was a completely different atmosphere from when they were with Gao, and in a place like this? So he did what any normal, smooth human being would do.

"I- I- Happy Birthd- I mean, thank you!" he smiled, staring at Jack in wonder. Maybe he would get a cool buddy like that too, someday...

Not noticing the bookshelf falling until the last second, the sudden push to the floor caught him off guard and he landed directly on his face. Rubbing his nose a bit, he didn't notice it bleeding - giving Tasuku a worried look and checking over him. "A- Are you alright? O- Oh no....!! I'm sorry, this is all my fault...!! I'm really sorry!" Pulling a yellow-and-black striped bandaid out of his pocket, he handed it to Tasuku. "A- Ah- It's like a wolf came in here and demolished the place....."

This was such a dangerous world.

Kiri was stuck.

Standing on the tips of his toes, he jumped up a bit. He was just slightly too short - and the book on the shelf of the store he had decided to wander into stayed there tantalisingly, just a bit higher than he could reach. Making another failed attempt to jump and get it, he sighed and stepped back from the shelf.

"I can't reach it...." he sighed defeatedly, eyeing the book with slight frustration. Turning around to leave, he suddenly had an idea - carefully tapping the shoulder of someone nearby and giving them an apologetic look.

"Um, I'm sorry to bother you..." he began, pointing to the shelf with the unreachable book. "But could you please help me reach a book from over there...? It's too high up..."
