I once saw a documentary, which showed these hate rages against America and other western countries taking place on the streets of Iran and in mosques. Do you know of this really is sth big in Iran, and whether a lot of people participate in this?

Of course not. The population of Tehran alone is 12 million. In all the anti-this and that marches only couple hundred people show up in the streets and that’s nothing compared to the population of Tehran. Also, all government workers, soldiers, police officers etc. are required to show up in these “hate rages”, or else there is going to be a lot of problem for them. Also the goverment pays poor people to attend these kind of things. We call these people “sandis khor” in Iran. Sandis is a type of a juice and people who show up in those marches get them. That’s why they go there, because they are poor and need something to eat. It’s actually pretty sad.

So, no. For the millionth time, your average Iranian does not do that kind of stuff.
