American Football @ Brooklyn Bowl @ the O2, London, Thurs 27th August 2015. A band I thought I’d never get the chance to see live, I’ve now seen twice.

Leicester vs Spurs at the King Power Stadium. Saturday 22nd August 2015. Lovely little stadium and almost a great result.
And the reason for the Munich trip: The Audi Cup! Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Spurs playing 4 games in 2 days, how could you say no. One of my favourite stadiums I’ve visited, apart from being a bit out of the way, it’s a huge stadium, but never felt horrendously busy, you could drink at your seats, and the football wasn’t bad too! (2 Bayern wins, getting to see Spurs win away in Europe finally! and seeing Bale/Modric play again albeit against Spurs). Would love to see a Bundesliga or a Champions league game here in the future to get the real Bayern Munich experience.
A few photos from my 5 days in Munich 2 weeks ago. Loved the city, the culture, loved the 30 degree weather all week, loved the beer and the food, and loved the experience. I need to learn more German to actually get by better but somewhere I would love to visit again.
A mini preseason this year: Peterborough vs Spurs XI at the ABEX Stadium 18th July 2015 Stevenage vs Spurs XI at the Lamex Stadium 1st August 2015
Refused - Elektra Freedom is an interesting album because I’m still not 100% on knowing where I stand with it. It’s hard not to judge Refused on their past and this album is not The Shape of Punk To Come but it was never going to be. It’s different and I guess I’m ok with that. This is one of my favourite tracks so far, it’s got the power and edge of previous Refused tracks, but it feels relevant and contemporary and for a 20 year old band still has a freshness to it, and it rocks.
New White Hart Lane! 61,000 capacity, with 17,000 in the biggest single tier stand in the UK, retractable pitch as well as an artificial pitch to hold concerts and for the NFL respectively (at least 2 games per year for 10 years), and a skywalk. This is a pretty incredible piece of architecture. Populous have done a great job and I’m so glad they kept the single tier south stand concept from the original design. The downside will be saying goodbye to the Lane before it’s demolished to make way, and Spurs are based somewhere else (hopefully still within London) for a year.
Desaparecidos - The Left is Right One of my favourite tracks off one of my favourite records released this year, made by Conor Oberst and friends.
The Movielife @ Electric Ballroom, Camden, Thurs 18th June 2015. Big tick off the bucket list for another band I grew up listening to, that I thought I’d never get to see.
Another end to another season. 5th with 64 points hasn’t been a bad first season for Poche (for context AVB’s first season was 5th with 72), obviously some hoped for more, but considering finishing 7th if things didnt go our way yesterday, I’d say it hasn’t been bad. No matter what the results, I’ve enjoyed this season; 14 home games (only 5 missed) including my first North London derby (a victory no less!) and getting to watch a Spurs game with my old man, 2 away games, all 5 home European games, a European away trip to Florence, all 4 home League Cup games, a League Cup final at Wembley (my first Wembley trip), 2 home FA Cup games, and a youth game too! Bring on next season! (above is a picture from nearly every game this season I was at, apart from against nottingham forest in the league cup)
American Football @ Electric Ballroom, Camden, Thurs 14th May 2015. So glad I made sure to get tickets for this because it sold out so fast. Everything about this show was nostalgic and musically perfect; exactly how it should be for a show from a band who last released music before the millennium and who you never thought you’d get to see live.
Motion City Soundtrack @ KOKO, Camden, Mon 4th May 2015. This was the 10 year anniversary of Commit This To Memory tour. I’m a pop punk kid at heart and grew up on this and a few other albums so to hear it played start to finish live was pretty special.
I’m still a massive Blink fan and also a huge Alkaline Trio fan so although it’s disappointing to see Tom DeLonge not apart of Blink shows it’s pretty cool to see Matt Skiba step in for singing and guitar duties. It’s certainly different with Skiba’s instead of DeLonge’s very distinct voice but listening to the whole show they played at the Roxy it still works (but seriously who goes to a show to record it all on a phone.. kids these days!!). I’d be interested to hear a Blink album/ep with these three as well.
...and the reason for the European trip two weeks back. Here's a few photos from the Thursday night at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. Great day drinking in Florence (what drinking ban?), police escorted bus rides to the stadium with everyone hanging out the windows and singing at the top of our lungs, excessive security checks, losing 2-0, completely frozen, and being kept behind nearly 2 hours after the game before we got back to the city. Not the result we wanted but wouldn't have changed the experience one bit. Everywhere we go, It's the Tottenham boys, making all the noise, everywhere we go!
Delayed post due to computer issues but here are a few favourite photos from my european trip two weeks back. Florence is such an amazing city. So much art and culture, so many spectacular views, and so much amazing food (the good weather didn't hurt either!). If you ever get the chance don't pass up the opportunity to go.
Went to my first North London Derby yesterday and what a brilliant day and result it was! Bricklayers was packed and in good voice hours before the early kick off, the Lane was buzzing and even after we went 1-0 down (against the flow of play) everyone was still behind the team and deserved more than the two brilliant Harry Kane goals. And after the game it just got better from there, Bricklayers was still expectedly still packed after the game and even getting the tube back towards kings cross two hours later, everyone was still singing (flashbacks from last years Lisbon underground journey to the ground). Bring on the rest of the month of games I have tickets for: home and away against Fiorentina and hopefully a trip to Wembley too!

Looking forward to getting stuck in to my first book of the year. Decided on a book/subject that I think fits well with going to so much football over the last few years in Tim Parks book, A Season With Verona. It's essentially a football book as it's all about a year following Hellas Verona F.C. home and away around Italy, but of course when travelling both home and away, it's about people, culture, travel, and the experience just as much as the game and result.
