Seeing the lyrics to our song ‘Emergency’ - the line that says, “These scars they will not fade” - tattooed over a girl’s cutting scars broke my heart. I’ve never dealt with self-harming in my own life. I’ve been depressed and had struggles I never thought I’d pull out of, but that was a whole new level. To see somebody proclaim that they were past that point in their life and to mark it with words that I’d written was really heavy.
