Perceptual Thinkers AW ‘18
Perceptual Thinkers’s AW 2018 collection’s motto should be the thought which is always there in our life: „We need a bit of a twist.”. At many points of our life we can feel that we need some kind of twist to make our existence more unique. The pieces want to represent this feeling. Besides this, the collection would like focus on the uniqueness of people living with autism – because what could be the best symbol to represent the power of being different if not a piece of clothes- and it gives a possibility to know better the frequent gestures of these people, like pulling and twisting which are for managing stress. The collection builds up around these actions and the pieces transformed with using these gestures. The lenghts change by twisting and the backs of the materials are highlighted because of this. They can be fluffy, hairy or different coloured than outside. Some pieces get extra functions too with doing this action. You can easily swirl a collar or hood for a particular attire, but if you want simplicity, you can safely fix the brand with patented jaws and straps. In the collection we find pieces with different details, such as a shirt with buttonholes located on the fingers or trousers where the slicc part is not in its original position but much lower than the leg.

TOMCSÁNYI × MAACRAFT - The social workshop
MAACRAFT is a design and social enterprise founded in 2012 as the social workshop of the Autistic Foundation of Miskolc. We offer high quality homewares and delicates products, concurrently familiarize autistic and mentally disabled people with the world of working and its joy. By gardening and learning artisan techniques autistic employees can improve their cognitive and manual skills and also gain knowledge about visual culture. The products are designed by the industrial designer, Daniel Szalkai and developed to manufactured products by conductors and professionals. With every purchase Maacraft product you support the workshop’s young disabled adults.
Working with others is always challenging, but at the same time, it can be a source of inspiration for both. Cooperating with other creatives give us the possibility to assure diverse working processes for our employees, teach them various techniques and also allows a complex product palette for the brand. Our collaborator in this season we had a chance to explore a new area. With the help of Dóri Tomcsányi we created a 4piece bag collection, which are in harmony with the Tomcsanyi AW’19 collection. Thanks to the well-known Maacraft materials (willow twig, willow bast) the bags became extra-strong and future-proof products. All items are made in our workshop that is why every bag has a unique style.

Cooking is an experience. Either in the company of fruits and vegetables lying on the countertop, or while chatting with somebody, or else listening to your favourite songs. The scents fill up your home, and all of a sudden everybody will appear around the table. MAACRAFT’s new collection is connected to the world of kitchen and gastronomy. Redesigning everyday homewares to the fore of functionality and creating as simple forms as possible. All MAACRAFT products are handcrafted and made exclusively by natural materials in order to assure their sustained quality. This season our delicates supply contains herbs and spices from our domestic dryer, shredded by hand. These are also essential for cooking. We want you to surround yourself with objects, which are nice to take in hand, on which you can rely on and you are glad to take out from the drawer.

Peceptual Thinkers SS'18 campaign PT intend to show a deeper level of clothing, where the materials and forms arouse a special feeling in the costumer. The inspiration came from the behaviour and clothing preferences of autistic people. With the help of innovative patterns and fabrics we create the new perception of our clothes, which allows the materials and forms to convey an extra meaning. The brand’s message is to raise attention on social inequality and conscious shopping.
