My Review of the Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation!!
This product has been on the market for a long time, but I still wanted to write a review for those who havenât tried it yet.
Personally, I have oily, acne prone, pale skin, and I love a full coverage foundation. I canât speak for any other skin types or preferences.
First of all, this foundation is THICK. You donât need a lot, unless you really like to cake that shit on. Normally I use 3-5 pumps of other foundations, with this one I only use around 2-3. It is easy to blend, and again, a little goes a long way. The coverage is fantastic, especially over the bright red acne that likes to visit my forehead quite often. I find that I donât need a concealer when using this foundation, thatâs how high-coverage it is.
When it comes to how it wears, I did notice my forehead got oily by the end of the day, but that is no big deal if you carry a powder compact with you. My face wasnât even close to the oil slick it usually is. It didnât oxidize on me, which is great when youâre as pale as I am. The only negative thing Iâd have to say is that I could definitely feel it while I was wearing it. If you hate the heavy feeling of foundation, stay away from this one.Â
The color selection for me was alright; I used the lightest one and it was still slightly darker than my face. I do believe that more colors have come out since I bought mine however (donât quote me on that).
Overall, I like this foundation, and I would recommend it to people who prefer intense coverage. I believe itâs worth the money, but I would recommend trying a sample before buying it because foundations work different on everyone.

Comparison of Colourpopâs âBanginâ Brunetteâ and âBlack ân Brownâ
I know this is sort of old news at this point, but in case anyone was still wondering about this palette, I thought Iâd give my own little review on it while itâs still somewhat relevant.
PROS
- If you are someone who loves red tones and neutrals, this palette is fantastic.
- It is very easy to create a variety of looks using just this palette due to the range of shadows.
- Very easy to blend, very buttery in consistency.
- Great pigmentation.
CONS
- Three darkest shadows are very similar, but this really isnât a big deal whatsoever.
