Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, the two founders of STAR (Street Transgender Action Revolutionaries) which dedicated itself to helping homeless transgender and gay youth beginning in the 1970′s - here is a link to a pdf of a zine with a detailed history of STAR, several really amazing interviews and pieces written by Sylvia and an interview with Marsha - both beautiful trans women of color and both of whom should never be forgotten
