Well gang, we did it!

Soft Hearts, Electric Souls is now officially so darn long that Google Docs won't let me write more in the document cos I've reached the character limit (granted this is including bits for future chapters and the Dead Babies) (it's excluding the first 7 Brian snippets tho, I wrote those in a different doc because the symbolism of doing so tickled me)

I honestly never expected the fic to get this long, and it's making me feel strangely sentimental and appreciative of all of yall <3 I lowkey wanna do something to maybe celebrate, but I've got no clue what that could be, so, uh. Any suggestions?

inspired by this lovely artwork and a day spent home sick watching hockey movies <3 they are goalie and protective d-man to me

bonus + more hockey hcs under the cut

ok meet the rosswood hornets:

Alex - cocky hotshot center. lethal slapshot, shitty aim. (AC)

Amy - right wing on Alex's line. will smash you into the boards with a smile and check on you after the game. passes more than shoots out of habit but has the best aim on the team

Jess - left wing, unassuming. often on the outside of the action waiting for a goalmouth pass to slam home. leading the team in assists off Amy's goals

Brian - defenseman, enjoys the more physical aspect of his job. more accurate description might be "goalie bodyguard" since he'll always be the first fist in your face for getting too forward in the crease (C)

Sarah - other half of Brian's d-pair. also a bruiser, with a killer hip check. insane chirping game. talks shit until you drop your gloves, then lays you flat. currently leading the team in penalty minutes (AC)

Tim - goaltender. eerily still in the crease until suddenly his glove shoots up to snatch the puck out of the air. smokes to deal with the stress of having hunks of rubber hurled at his face at 80 mph. will not hesitate to smack you with his stick if you step into his space

Jay - videographer. what, you thought I was gonna put him on the ice? that'd be like dropping bambi onto a six-lane expressway. he tapes the games and provides color commentary

Seth - play by play/guy in charge of taping up Sarah's knuckles

Taylor - reluctant hockey fan/emergency medic. only started coming to games because "one of these days you're gonna break something out there, Jess" but has started to get into it.

Why does Tim and Brian get all of the love when Alex is the real star

Plus Alex is hot? Why are we avoiding this blatant fact

Also- Alex is a VICTIM, Alex was heavily influenced by the operator and believed that killing everyone involved was the only way to stop the spread
