Solace Her name was Solace. Her smile meant compassion. And her touch administered an uncontrollable sensation of the body and mind.
“But if you do not define God’s love as a relentless, furious, soul-shattering power that rescues you from death, then you’re left with a tiny two-inch keychain-god who fits in your pocket and can be tossed at your convenience.”
J.S. Park
The weakness of so many modern Christians is that they feel too much at home in the world

Transmission Part 1..
It seemed as if the sky was drenched in blood as the setting sun scorched the sky with an eerie color. Even the creatures of the sky seemed to be swimming in the sky’s tainted ocean. And in the distance there were row boats fading into the horizon as if the gravitational pull of space was stretching the limits of life itself into its orbit. The amount of sweat produced was evident in his damp…

Psalm 55:22
"Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved." It is in my deepest burdens that I find myself most susceptible to the dangers of sin. Thoughts become idolatrous, physically I am drained, mentally its either empty or processing like a 1999 windows software and sin crouches at the door waiting for an opportune moment. The idea of casting your burden on the Lord is easily understood but how to do it is another matter in itself. How do I cast my burden to the Lord? And when I do, will it relieve me of its weight? This I asked and this I was answered. Surrender. Surrender thy burdens. Burdens become something we become attached to. Some people ruminate in their burdens not because it is the best thing that has happened to them but because they don't want to stop thinking about it. It gives them a strange comfort in thinking about and working out something that is heavy, thinking that it might become somehow lighter. But that never is the case. Understanding and processing is important but ruminating is a dangerous work of the mind. It is distrust and selfishness. I never realized burdens could require surrendering but then I realized burdens are really an extension of our desires. But how do I surrender a burden that fills my heart with passion? It is easy when feelings are less involved but what about when feelings are abundant. And that He answered again. He replaces it with an even greater passion. He replaces fleshly passion with sweet Spirit filled understanding. "Your rod and your staff, they comfort me (Psalm 23:4)." His divine providence gives support and stability when we are weak and vulnerable. It is His staff that we are able to pull ourselves back up and it is His staff that keeps us going. What a great Shepherd He is. He gives and takes away. And praise Him for that as we are reminded that our stay here is temporary. And when this truth is acknowledged, there are far less things to worry about, and far greater and important matters to be weighing on. What consumed me and broke me so much becomes petty desires and burdens of the human heart when compared to the greatness and glory of the bigger picture. Terminal illness or a broken past. Two seemingly opposite ends in His dynamic orchestration will meet in the most glorious finale with a comforting epilogue to follow. The matter is not whether I believe it or not. The matter is whether I believe Him or not. "I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living." - Psalm 27:13
twas a night filled with celebratory spectacles and beauty with each hour inching closer to the union and finale of the banquet but to know it's only a foretaste of the true union we long for and the true banquet that is to come; enriches our earthly marriage with great depth and hope and it enlivens us to pursue Christ all the more into the very steps of eternity.
No need to hide your sin. No need to be overwhelmed by guilt. It’s all been covered by the eternal love of Jesus.
Paul David Tripp
Consider it pure joy, whenever u face trials of many kinds, because u know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
James 1:2
When the rightful King takes possession of the heart, a struggle begins which never ends till death. The right heart may be known by its warfare, quite as much by its peace.
J.C. Ryle
Putting the weight of all our deepest hopes and longings on the person we "love" will crush him or her with our expectations
Tim Keller
To us a human is primarily food; our aim is the absorption of its will into ours, the increase of our own area of selfhood at its expense. But the obedience which the Enemy demands of men is quite a different thing. One must face the fact that all the talk about His love for men, and His service being perfect freedom, is not (as one would gladly believe) mere propaganda, but an appalling truth. He really does want to fill the universe with a lot of loathsome little replicas of Himself - creatures whose life, on its miniature scale, will be qualitatively like His own, not because He has absorbed them but because their wills freely conform to His. We want cattle who can finally become food; He wants servants who can finally become sons. We want to suck in; He wants to give out. We are empty and would be filled; He is full and flows over. Our war aim is a world in which Our Father Below has drawn all other beings into himself; the Enemy wants a world full of beings united to Him but still distinct.
C.S. Lewis
Idolatry isn't just worship of bad things. No, the desire for even a good thing becomes a bad thing when it becomes a heart ruling thing.
Paul David Tripp
Recent research reveals that women who gain a few pounds during their marriage actually live longer than husbands who bring it up.
