“Inspir-ACE-ion” Spell

Another spell from my tarot spell series, this spell dispels the creative block that’s been plaguing you.

If something has a * by it, it is optional.

What You’ll Need

Basil

Honeysuckle*

Rosemary

Sun water

A yellow candle

A purple candle

The Ace of Cups tarot card

The Ace of Wands tarot card

A large cup

What To Do

Take your candles, place them on each side of your cup, and light them to begin.

Then, place your cards side by side in front of the cup.

Place your herbs in the cup and pour the sun water over them.

Take two fingers and place them in the cup, stir clockwise until the herbs have mixed with each other in the water.

Take the rest of your fingers and place them in the water, let them soak for a little while.

Afterwards, take them out and mediate on the cards for a little while; let their energies flow through you.

To finish up the spell blow out your candles and thanking your cards.

Do not dump out your cup, let the water evaporate from the cup. This should take between 1-2 days or possibly a week depending on your room’s temperature.

Dangerous Herbs

Listed below are dangerous herbs and herbal combination and explanations as to why they are dangerous. Do not try any of these herbs, orally, on the skin, or in any other way ever (or during pregnancy or nursing, if listed as such).

*Some of the herbs mentioned are safe in small doses are are written as such. Other herbs are toxic in small doses or any amount. This is not a complete list.

Belladonna - Nightshade, bittersweet nightshade is an extremely poisonous herb and is absolutely deadly. It is related to Henbane. Side effects can include dry mouth, enlarged pupils, blurred vision, red dry skin, fever, fast heartbeat, inability to urinate or sweat, hallucinations, spasms, mental problems, convulsions, and coma.

Blue Cohosh - Can cause miscarriages, especially during early pregnancy. This herbs in combination with other herbs has been used as an aborfacient. It works by loosening and relaxing the uterine muscles. This is why it is often suggested as a remedy for pms and menopause.

Black Cohosh -  Can cause miscarriages, especially during early pregnancy. This herbs in combination with other herbs has been used as an aborfacient. It works by loosening and relaxing the uterine muscles. This is why it is often suggested as a remedy for pms and menopause. 

Chaparral - This herb can cause serious liver damage, liver failure, and acute hepatitis. 

Comfrey - Comfrey can be taken in small doses for upset stomach and pms, but using a lot is dangerous. Comfrey contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids, a type of poison that causes liver and kidney failure as well as cancer. They can be absorbed through the skin as well. 

The amount of PAs found in comfrey changes according to the time of harvesting and the age of the plant. The roots have 10 times higher amounts of PAs than the leaves.

Devil’s Claw -  Harpagophytum, means “hook plant” in Greek. Devil’s claw causes additive effects in many medications. It can cause changes in blood pressure as well.

Eucalyptus - Eucalyptus can not be consumed. Taking 3.5 mL of undiluted oil can be fatal.Even applying too much to the skin and absorbing large amounts is dangerous. (Use it very lightly, dilute it, or use a humidifier.) Signs of eucalyptus poisoning might include stomach pain and burning, dizziness, muscle weakness, small eye pupils, feelings of suffocation, and some others. Eucalyptus changes how many medicines break down in the liver.

Foxglove - Poisoning by this herb can cause stomach upset, small eye pupils, blurred vision, strong slow pulse, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, excessive urination, fatigue, muscle weakness and tremors, stupor, confusion, convulsions, abnormal heartbeats, and death. Long-term use of foxglove can lead to symptoms of toxicity, including visual halos, yellow-green vision, and stomach upset.

Golden Seal - This herb is a uterotonic; brain damage (kernicterus) has developed in newborn infants exposed to goldenseal. Do not use goldenseal during pregnancy or breast-feeding.

Hemlock -  Neuromuscular blockage can occur to the point of death if it blocks the respiratory muscles.

Henbane - Side effects include dry mouth, red skin, constipation, overheating, reduced sweating, vision disturbances, increased heart rate, urination problems, drowsiness, restlessness, hallucinations, delirium, manic episodes, and death. Henbane is poisonous and not safe for self-medication.

Kava - In the South Pacific, kava is a popular social drink, similar to alcohol in Western societies. It is used by some to treat anxiety, restlessness, and insomnia, but like many medicines used to treat these types of issues, Kava runs the risk of being too much of a ‘downer - oversedation.’ It can make you unable to operate machinery, fatigued, and worsen depression. Large doses can also effect the liver and cause yellowing of the eyes. Also, some of the dangerous chemicals in kava can pass into breast milk and might hurt a breast-fed infant. Avoid this herb if you have Parkinson’s disease or if you will undergo or have recently undergone anaesthesia as it effects the central nervous system. Alcohol, sedatives, and benzodiazepines interact with downers.

Licorice Root - This tasty herb, when taken in high doses, may cause tiredness, absence of a menstrual period in women, headache, water and sodium retention, and decreased sexual interest and function in men. It may also cause early delivery in pregnant women and miscarriage in early pregnancy. This root has also been seen effecting hormone levels in the body and interacts with oestrogen. It also seems to rid the body or potassium. It can also cause heart failure.

Mistletoe (European) - Can cause chills vomiting, diarrhea, cramping, and other side effects. Short-term, frequent use of European mistletoe might cause liver damage. Lowers blood pressure.

Mugwort - This herb is dangerous in large quantities. Thujone, a ketone and a monoterpene that occurs naturally in two diastereomeric forms:-α-thujone and-β-thujone is present in wormwood Thujones cause a slight high and a feeling of relaxation, which is why it is enjoyed by smokers and drinkers (as a tincture or bitters), can also cause breakdown of muscle, nightmares, seizures, dizziness, confusion, numbness of arms and legs, paralysis, and death. The chemical is also said to be responsible for absinthe’s hallucinogenic effects.

Mugwort might cause a miscarriage because it can start menstruation and also cause the uterus to contract.

Pennyroyal - Pennyroyal has been used as an antificant and can also kill pregnant mothers. Do not use this herb as a method for miscarriage. It can cause irreversible damage to the liver and kidneys, nervous system, brain, and cam cause dizziness, confusion, seizures, and death.

Peony - Peony can cause uterine contractions and is unsafe to use during pregnancy. It also slows blood clotting.

St. John’s Wort - This herb interacts with SSRIs and other types of medications for the treatment of depression. In bipolar, bipolar depression, mania, manic depression, and other related disorders, St. John’s wort can trigger a major upswing or manic episode in patients. This herb also interacts with birth control.

Wormwood - Wormwood one of the main ingredients in the alcoholic beverage, Absinthe. The latin Absinthium comes from the ancient greek word apsínthion, which some claim translates to “Undrinkable”, referencing the herb’s extreme bitter flavor. It is closely related to mugwort, which is toxic in large doses, but wormwood is even more so. The herbs also contained thujones. See Mugwort.

Valerian - This herb, especially the root, can cause oversedation. Alcohol, sedatives, and benzodiazepines interact with downers. Valerian can cause some side effects such as headache, excitability, uneasiness, and even insomnia in some people. A few people feel sluggish in the morning after taking valerian, especially at higher doses. It’s best not to drive or operate dangerous machinery after taking valerian. 

Wintergreen - This type of mint can be dangerous in high doses. Taking wintergreen oil or large amounts of wintergreen leaf can cause ringing in the ears, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, stomach pain, and confusion.

Spell Circle Masterpost Part II

(These are unique to my craft. However, I have seen similar methods in other crafts.) Spell Circles are used in a type of spell casting that is more ritualistic than other types of spells. (For less ritualistic spells, see these posts: 1, 2, 3.) Step #1: Begin by drawing a circle and a circle within that circle.

The circles act as a barrier and/or a scope to aim and contain the effects of the spell. I recommend using India ink that has had salt dissolved in it. (If you do, be sure to only use this ink for the circle, and not for the other parts of the Spell Circle.) Step #2: Draw the Root Sigil in the center of the smaller circle. The Root Sigil is the main goal of the spell. It is the subject of a sentence, and the sentence is the spell. If you aren’t familiar with Sigils or how to use them, Here is a post I made about them.

Step #3: (This step can totally be skipped) Draw a Spell Seal (This is a link to Part II) in the center of the circle. When I do this, I never let the lines of the spell seal go over the Circles, or Triangles of the Root Sigil. 

Step #4: The final step is to write the rest of the spell around the outside circle. When I do this, I always have a Sigil Chain that IS the complete sentence that I burn as part of the spell. 

Casting

To cast a spell Circle, set up the correspondences (Candles, smudges, elements, taglocks, etc.), and say the incantation. Then once the spell has been completed. Destroy the Spell Circle. (If a Spell Seal was used, I always destroy the Spell Circle using the Elements that are attributed to the Seal used.)

Sigils and How to Use Them:  -  (A Master Post)

This post isn’t about creating sigils but, rather what they are and how to use them to their fullest potential. A Sigil is a symbol, but not just any ordinary symbol. They are sigils that are created with intention, will, and magic. They are vessels that carry your intentions- a means of making them manifest. There are three very distinct views on this matter: Instant, Passive, and Active.I personally believe all are correct. However, one method may be more suitable for certain Sigils than the others.

Please note:

 It is very important that, while you are drawing the Sigil, you are present and mindfully putting the right intention into it.  If you are totally new, here are some examples of some Sigils that I have made: ~~~Sigils~~~ ~~~How I Make my Sigils~~~ ~~~Sigil Chains~~~

Sigil Activation:

Sigils are activated upon creation but can be further powered using any of the following three methods. If you have a book made specifically for Sigils, (especially if you create or keep Sigils for cursing) be sure to create or draw Sigils on the front and back covers that will cancel the effects of all other sigils within the book. 

Instant Sigils:

This method is a One-Shot-Johnny. It is the strongest in terms of manifestation. However, the effects are very short-lived. This method involves destroying the Sigil. Once the Sigil is destroyed its power is at 150% but decreases back to 0% at an exponential rate. Depending on the caster, it could last up to two days.  I use this method to amplify my spells and intentions. 

Here’s how it works:

Take a Sigil, let’s say one for empowering intentions, and draw it onto a piece of paper.  Charge the Sigil. You can do this is sooooooo many ways. ‘pray’ to it, masturbate to it, set crystals on it, leave it in the moonlight, etc. Then, once you have set your spell and have started the ritual, burn the Sigil. You are not limited in how you can destroy the Sigil! You can burn, tear, shred, melt, smudge, or soak them (If drawn in water-based ink). The effects will be manifest immediately. 

Passive Sigils:

In this form of Sigilwork, Sigils will only manifest while they aren’t remembered. The moment that they are remembered, they lose their effect, or it becomes very weak.   Here’s how it works:

Take a Sigil, let’s say one for positivity, and draw it on a piece of paper. Then charge the Sigil.  Then, place the Sigil in a place which no one will find or see it, not even yourself. The Sigil will really start working its magic once you have entirely forgotten about it. 

Active Sigils:

Active sigils are powered by remembering them and feeding them intention.   Here’s how it works: Take a Sigil, let’s say one for protection from negative energy, and draw it on your skin, a piece of paper, or a miscellaneous object you keep on you. Then you would rub or ‘pray’ to the Sigil whenever you needed it, pouring the intention of protection into it as you did so. This strengthens the Sigil and causes a more direct manifestation at the same time. You can charge these Sigils the same as Passive Sigils.

Sigils in Spellcraft:

As I had mentioned above, I use sigils to amplify my focus or intentions.  There are other ways to use them in spells. You could even make a spell entirely from Sigils.

In larger spells, you can create Spell Circles- or incorporate Sigils into Sacred Circles. Below is an example of a Spell Circle.

In the center of the circle is the Sigil that acts as the root for the entire spell. This Sigil is basically like the subject of a sentence. Whereas the symbols on the ring of the circle are the actions.  You can create Spell Circles of your own! Step 1: Draw a circle Step 2: Draw a Sigil inside that circle. Step 3: Write the specified implementation of said Sigil around the perimeter of that circle. The language doesn’t matter- as long as it boosts your headspace. (I created my own language/cipher/cryptograph for my GreyGrimoire so that peering eyes wouldn’t be able to read it.) Step 4: Create the rest of the spell around the Spell Circle. (Whether you’re making a spell bottle, or enchanting and Item or casting a curse. Just gather your materials and build correspondences.) Step 5: Cast that mamma jamma!

This was the first method of sigil making I ever learned, from a post by @the-darkest-of-lights. I decided to make my own tutorial on it with my spare time. Happy sigil making! I’ll be making more of these on other methods of sigil making I think, because there’s so many different methods, and this was quite enjoyable to make. (I know that you can make sigils with the other various planetary numerology squares but honestly I still haven’t figured out how, I only know this one.)

Acoustic sigils is a sigil that is made from complex electro-acoustic tones. These tones are selected by the remaining letters from a statement of intent. These letters will be used to make corresponding tones at different frequencies which will then be layered on top of each other to create these acoustic sigils. Once made you can use these acoustic sigils in many different ways such as putting them behind the music in the song, using them like a binary Beats while meditating, or sleeping, or even broadcasting them over a large area to activate your intent. These sigils as far as I can tell were first researched, and made by Kevin Max Krebs back in 1996. Time for a step by step on how to make acoustic sigils.

1) First things first you’re going to want to make a statement of intent. You can do this just like you are writing one for a normal sigil. Write it however you write your statements of intent, but I will be right in mine as an i-statement in present tense. Pick whatever intention you want to see in the universe like always this can be anything from protection to love, and much, much more.

Below is the statement I will be using for this example.

“I will follow wolf of antimony’s blog”

2) Remove the vowels, and any repeating letters which leaves me with.

“WLFNTMYSBG”

3) Now use the chart below to convert the letters you have to hertz frequencies.

A = 20hz.

B = 40hz.

C = 60hz.

D = 80hz.

E = 100hz.

F = 120hz.

G = 140hz.

H = 160hz.

I = 180hz.

J = 200hz.

K = 220hz.

L = 240hz.

M = 260hz.

N = 280hz.

O = 300hz.

P = 320hz.

Q = 340hz.

R = 360hz.

S = 380hz.

T = 400hz.

U = 420hz.

V = 440hz.

W = 460hz.

X = 480hz.

Y = 500hz.

Z = 520hz.

Once you convert all your letters over to frequencies it should look something like this.

4) Now for the last part you’re going to need a program that can generate tones. The first program I can think of is audacity for the PC, Mac, and Linux. http://www.audacityteam.org/download/

Once you download  the program, and install it you need to open it up, and generate your first tone. To do this in audacity you need to go up to generate, and then go down to tone. A pop-up should appear in middle of your screen where you can enter information into the fields. You will want to set the waveform to sine, set the frequency to the first frequency that appears on your statement of intent, set the amplitude to 7, and set the duration to a second. This will give you a very well-made tone. After you have that first tone go up to track, and make another mono track, and then make your second tone on it. Keep doing this until you have every one of your tones overlapping each other then exported to your desktop, and there you go you have your very own acoustic sigil.

50 ideas for a Grimoire

I collected these ideas (and others) from different sources. What you see here is what I think would be interesting to put in my Grimoire (because apparently people need to be told these things).

How to use a sigil wheel.

A tutorial. 

I rarely use this method myself, but I know people are always looking for tutorials on different methods of sigil making and not finding any. I’ve had a few different people asking for more graph based sigil making techniques, and this is a fairly well known one that fits that category. I hope this tutorial is coherent and answers questions instead of making things more confusing. If you have any questions, however, never be afraid to ask.

Sigils is something used by not only witches but also many other people. Sigils help you accomplish things you want, like: losing a habit, passing a test, or finding something you’ve lost. (But getting these accomplished would definitely take time)

There are many other ways to make sigils, and all of them would work as long as you believe. Of course, sigils won’t be able to do hard things like finding a stack of gold or making your hair grow really long in 1 day.

I don’t really know what people generally call this method of sigil making, so I’m just calling it “Letter Shaping” because you’re using the basic shapes from certain letters. This is the most common form of sigil making, and it allows the most creative influence. As you see above the sigils are for nearly the same thing, yet the sigils came out completely different. Not because the purpose was different, but because I approached them both a different creative way, and that’s what I like so much about this method. There’s a lot of freedom and personalization involved.

Finally put all 11 of the Series 1 sigils into a single sheet so I can serialize all of these better. Planning on doing the same for the Series 2, 3, & 4 ones by the end of the year, & then starting next year with Series 5.
