Definitely (not) Average: the Soulhead Jones Band

    Brief post:

   Damn. Ight first & foremost, gotta say the whole shit, like a Pimp named Slickback, A Tribe Called Quest, Father's Liquor Cabinet (yeah bad example, he just goes by Father now, disregard this one), anyway yeah, Soulhead Jones Band, straight outta Florida, Tampa more specifically. & man, music with authenticity at its finest.

   Sometimes I feel like SHJB just be like.. man fuck the beat for a minute let me just go in (examples here) & sometimes he is in-fact, the beat (example here....... no, wait- example here.), shits pretty wild, i'm fucking with it. I'm gonna get more in depth with his project You are (not) Average, but that my friends is for another day.

  Goal here is to recommend ya'll something & someone worth recommending, nothing more & nothing less at the moment, any questions, comments, concerns, rejects, terms and/or conditions? no? ight cool.

Shit man, if I had to some up Icytwat in 140 characters.. hm lemme see..

Not exactly 140 charcters but i didn't wanna lose count & shit, plus if you was really gonna check if it was 140, you got too much time on ya hands lmao. Moving on, Chicago artist & Divine Council member (shout outs to DivCo, them niggas be snapping) Icytwat (rap alias Lil Glo Fendi) built his initial hype with some ill shit he dropped titled "LILDEEPTHROAT" (shit maybe even a bit before then). Angelic chords with the authentic trap patterning, what made it special was a sample in midst of other samples, but was a sample loop of BBG's song, Chiraq (more specifically Quaddy Goons line from it) that really pushed it to glory it was.

I know what some of you are thinking, "But Satchmo, Icytwat isn't super under-the-radar." Although my nigga does slick have a following/buzz going for him, ain't no such thing as too much shine, feel me? 

As far as projects go he has two under the mattress, & one on the way. First project is 06 Elegance (267 favs) with features from himself- Lil Glo Fendi, $ilkMoney, Lord Linco, Kane Grocerys, Kewl Nast, Cyrax, JOEYXX, EndyEnds & a hyping Intro by Abdul.. geniusly titled Abdul's Intro. Second & latest tape, FENDI EP, 5 tracks , 3 producers & a feature from Brent Rambo (Not the child actor in the Apple commercials, it's still Abdul lol). I could go on all day about it, just go peep dudes tunes, ight? ight. Audiomack -> ***

Bliss. First word that comes to mind with songs that rolls off from the projects of Fort Lauderdale artist, Koi Kurama. Don't get me wrong she can be on-go at any moment (laid a raw, still angelic voiced verse in song ILL (Prod. 808 Mafia)). Many things to take note off. She's diverse with her production roster with it sometimes being a different producer per song on a project (more specifically on her latest project, BLOOD THICKER ep).

First artist on the blog with a bit of a discography to eat off of, know what that means? 'Means step y'all shit up niggas, she killing y'all. 3 tapes under her belt in 2 years, gold star for you, Koi. Let me get back on topic though, although her style doesn't scream Florida, her beat selection definitely has Florida in mind, most are dark chorded, spacey & can sometimes be a field day for those who fuck with 808's.

I can talk my shit all day but I'd rather you check her out, 2 outta 3 Projects for the low low price of free 99, one project, the Garden (Donny Darko got some production credit in there, *flame+hunnid emoji*) goes for a fair price of $5. Know what that means? It means that costs about 4 iced honey buns & an Arizona of your choice, if you can put 4 cakes & a drink on credit/debit (meaning if you won't cop this project cause it "costs a grip) take yo broke ass on & just listen to it, don't cost a dime to do that.       First off, I don't know how to even address this article without adding in Modern Outfit member, producer & graphic artist Benny Jetts (consider this article a 2 for 1, you're welcome). Them two musically are like sugar & kool-aid, peanut butter & jelly, ham & burger (catching my drift now? good.) 

       I found out about Piera about Spring-early Summer 2014, well, when she dropped her debut (my personal favorite) song, Creative Riding (peep that shit here) produced by Bonobo & Benny Jetts. This being with no pre-fan base or backing from anyone really taboo, she built her fanbase & popularity around the internet & atlanta higher with every song she followed up after Creative Riding, with songs Okaycoolokaybool, Gangsta's Paradise & For the Love of the 808 with guest production from Cashmere Cat, Wonya Love & of course, Benny Jetts.

       After a couple features on songs from others like Sammy DVS's Hump Day, or Tyler Makenzie's Aurora she dropped her first Mixtape, Z4 which at that time had a bit of anticipation from her peers & social media followers. 5 songs, mainly produced by Benny Jetts & additonal production by producers liike Red Heat, Marcus Dominic, & Sinister.

       Althought her songs do numbers, with only 207 followers 70 favs on Z4, slightly under the radar, greatly desreves the shine, keep up the grind, P. Keep thinking like a king, & getting cake like a peasant.

Project - GOKU EP

First to the blog is Atlanta-based artist Translationss. With only one tape up on his Soundcloud, at the moment only 30 followers & it averages around 110-150 plays & about 7 or so favs, definitely flows under the radar, definitely deserves some shine.

First song, Driveway ft Deboze Muzik (prod. Kaine Solo)... if it's anything I'm a fan of in underground music, it's well-put-together hooks (a method that artists like Robb Bank$ thrives in), Driveway brings that to the table fortunately.

I mean it's no Taj Mahal of all hooks, but it gets its point across in a more vibrant way than a one to two word, monotone hook. "Henny got my looser than a bitch.. in the driveway coolin' with my clique", i fucks with it.

Moving on, by the end of the first song I can see that this guy, Translationss puts more time in making his music than some. Mixed well, doesn't get boring fast, & beat selection is fuckwitable (shoutouts to Cudi for that compound word).

Second song, the EP titled song, GOKU. Another track produced by Kaine Solo, who's pretty proper with the production in my opinion. From what i heard so far out of a couple songs it's safe to say Translationss is a proud thrifter, same here my nigga. With no features & nothing but strong kicks, hat, snare, a PSX startup loop & the occasional gun cock & 808 cowbell, Trans (you don't might if i call you that right? right.) goes on topic about him feeling like Goku, leveled up like Super Saiyan & he's unfamiliar with all the fake niggas out there. Pretty sure i heard somewhere in there about "tell London Zhiloh suck my dick..", lmao.

From what I'd sum up, i'd give the tape a 73/100, but the niche of this blog isn't more-so for critic but for recognition & boosting peoples art to more eyes & ears, nothing more nothing less. Good shit tranlationss, good shit.
