coffee break

He paused near the doorway, looking up to catch Gregâs gaze. He allowed his mouth to go a little bit slack and widened his eyes just a tad, as if this were news to him. But then he reoriented his features, his slack mouth tightening into a thin line of annoyance. âNo shit, Sherlock!â he grumbled sarcastically.Â
Greg let out a soft sigh as Adam responded to him. So it was going to be one of those days. Â âIf I bought you a coffee do you think it would be possible for you to maybe be a little more quiet?"Â He was trying to avoid conflict but there didnât seem to be a good way to go about it if he also wanted silence.
The dark-haired Darling stared at Greg blankly for a moment. He then smiled an indulgent smile, pointed to his shoes, and said, "I doubt you know what these are, but let me inform you: if I can spend $350 on a pair of loafers, then I think I can buy my own damn coffee.â
What the other man didnât know was that heâd caught the loafers on sale. At a yard sale. Luckily for Adam, they were well-maintained and looked like they could go for $350. Sometimes even $400, if he planned his outfit strategically enough.
