Nursery and illnesses

So it has been a while since I posted on here - not sure anyone actually misses what I have to say but here it goes. 

I have been working away for 3 days a week for the past 3 months, and it’s been tough. Tough for my wife because she has a high-pressure job that involves working in London 3 days a week, doing the morning and evening routines, as well as the Nursery drop-offs and pick-ups, on her own!

Doesn’t help when in her first three months at Nursery, she has been ill pretty much every week. I know it takes a while for her immune system to build, so I have everything crossed.

A neighbour of ours mentioned that her son and the family were ill for the best part of the first year that her son was at Nursery.

The 'virus'

So it's been a few weeks since I have written anything mainly because I have started a new job and our little pudding hasn't been well for a few weeks. When I used to work with people that had small children at Nursery or School, I never fully appreciated what they meant by children being little balls of infection and then picking various illnesses up from them. You also don't really understand how helpless you feel and it's frustrating. Both for mummy and I as we probably takeout out on one another from time to time. So in the past week, we have taken our eleven month old daughter to the doctor three times in the past week. Bless her she has had a high fever, a rash, a snotty cold, and now a cough, and has lost her voice. She seems happier though, but the poor thing hasn't really wanted to play so much. Anyway, she is getting better we think, as she is starting to eat more food and drink more milk. A slight warning for anyone going through a similar experience, it does take a couple of weeks at least for them to feel better.

Mixed emotions, first day at Nursery

So the day has arrived, Mummy has been understandably emotional as she has spent 24 x 7 for the last 9 months with our precious little pudding.

To be fair she has organised the nappies to be kept there, written up the timings for feeds and naps at home.

Packed a bag with medicines in case.

Spare set of clothes.

Comfort blanket and Teddy Bear for nap time.

Formula for 3 feeds. Sterilised bottles with cool, boiled water. Talk about organised! Concerns - After little one came home from her settling in sessions at said Nursery we noticed that although they had changed her nappy, they hadn't cleaned properly so we had found poo. We have spoken to them and are considering moving her to another Nursery. Let's see how today goes!
