I think it’s a really uniquely American thing to be thinking that there’s some parallel life that you ought to be living. You’re like, “Oh, one of these days, I’m just gonna go back to the life that I should be living, and live that.” But actually, it robs you of the joy of what you’re doing in the moment. You’re kind of fixated on an alternate reality, especially a reality that’s not even as fun.

On any given day, the top 300 uncharted artists have a NBS Billboard 200 Score at or above 15. 300 is a significant number as each year roughly 300 artists chart on the Billboard 200 for the first time. At this level of prediction — a 15% likelihood that an artist will reach the Billboard 200 — our Billboard 200 Score correctly identified 236 of the 386 Billboard 200 artists, over three of every five!

Seth Godin, When to Decide
Had to re-read this a few time for it to click, but it's the best advice I've read on making decisions in a while.
What a wonderfully simple way of thinking about it: weigh the anxiety of not making a decision against what it would take to get new information to inform a better decision. I'm guessing more times than not, the best choice is not to delay and overanalyze, but act and learn.
