KATE idk if i ever gave you the rest of my story/if it sent. but after our impromptu ring shopping escapade š ty and i had the marriage talk. we talked about our relationship, non-negotiables, family traditions and how we would want to split up everything from holidays to making new traditions etc, finances, children, where we want to live in the future, careers, we talked about a wedding, and we even talked about last names. a very long convo š and we reiterated our old convos. about both putting in work in our relationship and handling conflicts. we talked about our views in general on marriage and what that looks like/means to us.
and at the end i was like i do have one question, and i want you to be honest with me. and he was like āwhatās upā and i was like ādid you ask [my friend] to ask me about ringsā and he blushed and he goes āno, well, kind of. she actually reached out to me and told me the things you liked in a ring bc she āfigured iād need that infoā and told me you didnāt know she was telling me. and i was asked her if you wanted it to be a total surprise or if you had wanted to pick it out yourself and if she could find that outā and i was like š„ŗ youāre too freaking cute. and he said āi wouldnāt have taken you in there today if i didnāt already know you wanted to pick it outā he also said that when he told his mom about marrying me ššš that she told him to make sure he knew that info lmao. and i was like āwell i actually want to pick it out together, not just by myselfā and he goes āyouāre cute. but i donāt care what it looks like, as long as you like it. youāre the one wearing itā and i was like yeah but itās a token of our love for each other and you have to see it all the time so i donāt want you to hate it either. and he goes āa ring on your finger that signifies that youāre going to be my wife? trust me, i wonāt hate itā š that earned him an ily and making out on the couch. that turned into him carrying me to bed. and now ty has access to my wedding pinterest board lol -roommate anon
