Sludgebreather Doodles

Sludgebreather Fun Facts:

—Sludgebreathers are one of the few species in Mythria that are considered “non sapient.” They act and function more like a savage animal, attacking nearly anything that moves. This is primarily due to the barren and desolate island they reside on, where food is hard to come by.

—The black sludge that drains from their mouth is riddled with bacteria. Any bite that is left untreated for long can cause a lethal infection.

—Sludgebreathers use their front limbs for grabbing and restraining prey, and rely on their wings for walking and charging forward.

Dreadscale Reference Sheet

Dreadscales can vary in color quite a bit more than you’d expect for a desert dragon. They tend to be sandy tans and browns but they can also be terracotta like reds and oranges as well as white and silver. Some individuals may have small accent colors on the undersides of their wings. These colors can vary quite a bit depending on their scale color but can be red, orange, yellow or even teal and blue. All Dreadscales have black teeth, gums, tongue, innards and even bones.

Skornox Doodles

Skornox Fun Facts:

(Plural = Skornoxen)

—Skornoxen are an incredibly intelligent species that study other species of dragon and catalog them. They’re under the belief that other dragons are merely animals in comparison to them. (Although that is not true) Because of this, they will occasionally capture and take other dragons back to their island where they preform many experiments to further study them.

—Their outer “skeleton” is not actually bone, nor is it connected to their skeleton in any way. Rather, it is a hardened keratin-like armor that forms on the surface of their skin to protect them. Their skin is also quite thick and durable, able to withstand many slashes and cuts as well as provide some resistance to burns.

—Skornoxen have one of the most dangerous fire breaths in Mythria. It burns incredibly hot, and can be blown in massive amounts. It is very easy to identify from its bright, lime green color.

Seapanther Reference Sheet

Individuals can have varying light patterns, which I’ll post later on. Although Seapanthers typically aren’t very large, they don’t stop growing. Some older individuals can be as large as Skornoxen.

Skornox Whelps

I got a bit distracted and decided to draw some skrunkly little baby Skornoxen. Skornox are born without their protect armor, and can be very vulnerable for the first several years of their lives. As they age, their skin begins to harden and form the needed armor along their head, back and chest. As it develops it lightens and turns white to resemble its iconic bone like look.

Their eggs, similar to their skin, have that strange “x-ray” like effect. This makes it pretty easy to see how far along the whelp is in development.

Viramora Reference Sheet

Viramora have a lot of sexual dimorphism.

Females: Larger and generally more dominant. They have brightly colored heads, spines and pattern accents. This coloration is intended to look somewhat like a flower. These accents are typically red, pink, purple, yellow, or orange although they can be any “flower like” coloration.

Males: Smaller and tend to be less confrontational. They lack the vibrant color accents that the females have and instead tend to be more uniform in color. Their manes (head petals) are often a lot larger, sometimes reaching halfway down their neck.

A size chart: Red->Female, Blue->Male

Doctor Jawbone

Doctor Jawbone is the head scientist for the Skornox. Many Skornoxen look to him as an idol of sorts. He is incredibly intelligent with a narcissistic ego to go along with it. He puts his studies above everything else, regardless of the lines he has to cross. He is cold and unforgiving, while also having the charisma to gain the support he needs. He prefers to always work alone, feeling that others, regardless of their brains, will always find a way to mess up his data.

Echohowler Reference Sheet

Both Echohowlers’ antenna and lights have some variation between individuals. For the antenna their shape can vary, while the lights may have different amounts. An example: One may have 6 tail lights while another has 9 (within the range listed)

Wintermane Reference Sheet

The pattern on their coat can vary a bit, which I’ll most likely post another time. The second image shows their thicker winter coat. Not much sexual dimorphism between males and females although the males will sometimes have larger nasal crests.
