I was wondering why they changed this in the anime:

In the anime, the dialogue change, line delivery and the closeup of Badeni's face makes the scene a bit more emotional. Naturally I'd assume it's to double down on Badeni's character development/humanity or showcase his natural capacity for empathy, but that also led me to wonder, kind of puzzled, if manga!Badeni's just one to tap into this sardonic sense of humour in that situation.

And I just realised, and maybe it's obvious, that it is very possible Badeni figured in his final moments, he could at least give Oczy the chance to die doing what he loves. Beholding a sight such as this.
