Hi, Clair. I’d like to come in and talk with you. Would that be all right?
This is the Batman we need to see more often. The one who remembers what it was like to be a scared child, one who knows how to handle situations delicately.
One of the reason why I love batman so much. He is portrayed as a very careful and guarded man. But he is probably the most human out of anyone. It’s why he is the knight that gotham deserves.

Remember that time Wonder Woman defeated the entire Justice League to save everyone from the prophesy that said that members of the JLA would have to die?

What Thomas Wayne would discover at the top of the stairs was a young man whose father’s death propelled him into his present role. And what Bruce Wayne would discover was a deeply disturbed man at the end of his life, whose son’s death propelled him into his. A wounded father. And a wounded son. Coming to life from opposite ends of the same path. Facing the only person who could every truly see them for who they are. When kids are young, you lie to protect them. But older, at the end of your life, you don’t. It’s the time you need to hear the truth. As painful as it can be. I wouldn’t find out until later what they talked about up there. And by then it would be too late. But I like to think that, alone face to face, and with the air so thick with pain and loss and things too long unsaid, father and son both felt a little peace.
