hey guys, my gaming pc/pc i use for ps and replies totally self destructed. im super mad bcuz im so poor and i literally spend like all of my money on it jfljflksjf but im not at work for a couple weeks so i cant even afford to fix it...so i have like a giant 4,000 dollar paper weight rn. fmL. fsjfksafj i’m stuck to my little dingy laptop for ahwile..so its gonna be harder for me to format and do replies. i am sorry in advance

frances isn’t new to deidre being a protective mother duck — which isn’t a very pleasant comparison, given their colourful history. the point is, she’s unfazed by it. very much used to it, so on a regular day, she would have dismissed by simply saying, “okay, i got you.” but today is no regular day because frances, above everything else, is curious as to why deidre talks about the woman she’s only met once in her life as if she’s known her for years and more. with squinting eyes, she looks up from her book and tilts her head to the side, “i’ve only met her once, dre, so you can relax. i won’t go riding in horses and cars with her any time soon. also? you always tell me to be careful of everyone who enters this store. i get that they’re a group of … special people, but doesn’t that make you one, too?” she chuckles softly, shaking her head as she goes back to the last page she’d been reading. “you’re working here, after all. you gave into my aunt’s sales talk and found yourself stuck here with me.” she’s quiet for a bit after that, finishing the last few sentences on the particular page, before deciding that she’s done for the day. maybe she should start helping out with whatever deidre is doing. “what’s your deal with her, anyway?” she asks, joining the other near the crystals. “you seem… particularly – uh – more disapproving of her.”

deidre fiddled mindlessly with a polished turquoise crystal, fingers nimbly tracing along its smooth surface before seizing it from the shelf. turquoise was supposed to promote relaxation and peace, but all deidre felt was an awkward inclination to tell frances the legitimate truth, and not the one that her aunt had fabricated for her. alas, her obligation ran deep. clearing her throat, deidre turned to face frances, who had joined her near the crystals. the energy of the room was uncomfortable (for deidre, at least) “yes, you should be careful of everyone who enters the store. i swear sometimes that everyone has a hidden agenda. better safe than sorry. right?” the raven haired woman announced while continuing to handle the stone “but andy is different. i’m serious. she just gives me a bad feeling, and i can’t really elaborate on it more than that, but you know my intuition is always right. so please, just stay away from her. for me. it’s not worth the hassle.”

deidre sorted through various crystals and gems, organizing them by colour and purpose on the shelf. for the most part, deidre is unfazed -- things don’t bother her, and she’s used to living by her own rules, but with frances it’s different. in this particular circumstance there is no magic at play but deidre felt as though she owed frances a debt perpetrated by a spellful bond. she was eager, which promptly caused her to give in to her own curiosity and desire to keep frances safe. “andy came in the store the other day. i think she was looking for you, but she ended up having a chat with me.” she stated flatly, then twisted an amethyst crystal so its more polished side faced outwards.”i thought i told you to be careful around her. there’s just something off about her, okay?” deidre could only hope her intentions read clearly. she knew that she was treading dangerous waters by acting protective, but it was her duty. @torcst

standing behind the bar anastasia held the wet glass in her hand, drying it off slowly. the building was active tonight and she loved to see everyone come in and have fun. it was interesting to see the differences in this town. looking down she put the last glass away and wiped her hands off. hearing someone take a seat the bartender glanced over and smiled. “hey there, you look like you could use a drink. what can i get for you?”

deidre had already been drinking that night, much to her cab driver’s dismay. she’d closed shop with frances and afterwards was in dire need of some fun. not one to rely on friends for a good time, the raven haired woman opted to take herself out that night and was already tipsy by the time she’d taken a seat at the bar. nearly fumbling to steady herself in her seat, deidre returned the bartender’s smile. “hey.” she sighed, the grin on her face proceeding to show itself in response to a very beautiful woman. by that point she was inwardly praising herself for making the decision to go out. “surprise me.”

“are you always this defensive?” the original teased - words dripping like icicles from a shin roof, shattering upon impact. she walked further into the establishment, eyes scanning the shelves. even if she knew, already, there existed only one heartbeat in the building. and that was deidre’s. “you must think so terribly of me. are you basing everything off rumors? cause that’s not really fair now, is it?” the young witch would be smart to trust the horror that surrounded andromeda’s name. there was nothing else, in all the tales spoken of her. “i know frances thinks of you like a friend. a sister. i’d like for us to be on good terms. a friend of a friend type of deal.”

her soft brown orbs transpired promptly into daggers, deep gaze holding strong in the face of what she’d possibly consider her arch-nemesis of the week. deidre not only failed to echo the woman’s humour but also made an effort to appear obnoxiously unimpressed with andy’s presence (not that her opening remark hadn’t already made that clear)."rumours? i'm fully capable of making the judgement call myself.” she’d hit the nail on the head. deidre did think terribly of her. “not that that’s any of your business.” the raven haired woman quipped in response to andy outlining her relationship with frances. just leave already? “so you came for me? well, sorry to disappoint -- with you coming all the way here . . . but i’m not interested.”

“ AH, andy. . .” the brunette allowed the book in her hand to drop abruptly onto the counter, fingers slipping clear of the object so they could transition into a defensive posture. arms crossed, eyes shooting up as she glared at the blonde woman , with her chin raised. putrid vampire. deidre was being generous by stopping herself from metephorically hexing her from where she stood. “frances isn’t here right now. so you should leave, and probably just . . . not come back. thanks.” @devilwcman
