Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom, they were dressed like their fathers in the Battle of Hogwarts.
I know y'all did not read the books but Roald Dahl talks about this in the book. Charlieâs teacher points out the fact that unless you buy a shit ton of bars youâre probably not gonna win. Just like the lottery. Just like how all of the other winners of the tickets bought a shit ton of bars. Except Charlie, who just got lucky. And Charlie was originally black. Literally the whole point of the book was that wonka wanted to give the less fortunate a fair opportunity and it wasnât fair because the system isnât fair.
Stop the car.
Charlie was originally black?!?!
!?!!
He was and Mr. Dahl was forced to make him white. Also his widow has spoken and confirmed that as well.

Yup. So all those people that were like âjust comply even if you did nothing wrongâ, hell no! They shouldnât be arresting you if you did nothing wrong. Especially how rough some of these cops are. More people knowing about this will cut down on these power hungry bad cops.
Reblogging again for quotes;
âStory affirmed the right of self-defense by persons held illegally. In his own writings, he had admitted that âa situation could arise in which the checks-and-balances principle ceased to work and the various branches of government concurred in a gross usurpation.â There would be no usual remedy by changing the law or passing an amendment to the Constitution, should the oppressed party be a minority.
âStory concluded, âIf there be any remedy at all ⌠it is a remedy never provided for by human institutions.â That was the âultimate right of all human beings in extreme cases to resist oppression, and to apply force against ruinous injustice.ââ (From Mutiny on the Amistad by Howard Jones, Oxford University Press, 1987, an account of the reading of the decision in the case by Justice Joseph Story of the Supreme Court.)â
âAn illegal arrest is an assault and battery. The person so attempted to be restrained of his liberty has the same right to use force in defending himself as he would in repelling any other assault and battery.â (State v. Robinson, 145 ME. 77, 72 ATL. 260).
âAs a practical matter one should try to avoid relying on the above in an actual confrontation with law enforcement agents, who are likely not to know or care about any of it. Some recent courts have refused to follow these principles, and grand juries, controlled by prosecutors, have refused to indict officers who killed innocent people claiming the subject âresistedâ or âlooked like he might have a gunâ. Once dedicated to âprotect and serveâ, far too many law enforcement officers have become brutal, lawless occupying military forces.â
HMMM
Bringing this back đ For no reason in particular.
Instead of ever physically trying this I think you should instead or at least along withďżź resistance memorize what the this law is called by case and numberďżź and recite it when the situation arises.
Most times law enforcement does not give you full rights as a default. Your rights have to be verbally in exact legal terms ďżźinvoked.
I am reminded of a film about a young man who comes upon a rat in the streets of Paris. This rat is special; he has been gifted with a talent for the culinary arts. He transcends his station as vermin. Yet he is cursed to live a half life, his greatest talent confined to the kitchen in which he will never be welcome. Yet he strives to live; he conducts himself through the young man, concealed within the chefâs toque. The man becomes marionette to the rat - yet the rat himself is puppet to the whims of his own ability, unable to find significance in the simplicity of his speciesâ station. In the end, it is only the food which escapes the cruel influence of obligation. It is constituted not by what it must do, but only by what it has always been. Tell me, Will, are you the rat? The young man, controlled? Or are you, perhaps⌠the food?
