a concept: soulmates, for better or for worse

two characters who are inextricably linked, who can never lose each other even if they try. they've been friends, lovers, enemies, always something, something important. it's almost like some uncontrollable cosmic force like gravity is keeping them together. there are too many conflicted feelings simmering between them for them to ever move on, so they're stuck in this endless cycle of push and pull. they may not always treat one another right, but they don't have to. because no matter how much suffering they put each other through, the truth is that they need each other in their lives, suffering and all. they are two sides of the same coin, two halves of one soul, and each other's only equals.
