One of the most important pieces of wisdom someone has ever passed onto me came from my yoga teacher while I was doing my yoga teacher training back in 2015. She said, โpart of your spiritual practice will be to not feel the need to share every little realisation you have or progress you make. Keep your spiritual development to yourself, and instead let it show by the way you show up.โ
I didnโt fully understand it then, but I do know. The need to share your growth or achievements online is only a cry for validation. You share your growth because you want to hear that what youโre doing matters. But thatโs only showing how shallow your growth really is. Itโs when you can make enormous steps forward, grow and understand, WITHOUT feeling the need to have your progress validated by others that the growth is fully embodied in you. When itโs no longer something you need to talk about or explain, itโs just a part of you.
I am no longer interested in people who talk about their growth or achievements. Show it to me in the way you love and walk through this world. Thatโs the only growth that matters.
