Everything they had is totally deactivated… with ONE exception. Their Patreon, which I have been subscribed to literally for over ten years, is still active. I’m the ONLY person who’s been a member and I’ve been paying for it for a decade now.

The hardest part of my self reflection journey so far has been realizing what a bitch I am.

And I know some people will read this and think that it’s purely self deprecating, but that’s not what I mean. What I mean is if you really look at the hard evidence, people do like me. But I return a lot of that affection with aggression, indifference, and an uptight attitude, which startles people off.

Even people who mean well don’t like me… and I just assume that they’re not gonna want me around, which becomes a self fulfilling prophecy in the end.

The thing is, if I keep saying “nobody wants you around” forever, it’s going to keep being true. And I know that.

So why can’t I stop?

Yknow personal reflection is a painful process. Some days it hurts worse than others, and some days I feel really bitter for other people complaining. It feels like if I’m doing this hard thing and I believe that someone else isn’t, that means they’re not allowed to complain. As if their complaining in itself is some kind of insult to me.

But it’s kind of not, huh? Everyone’s just going through something.

That’s a deeper level of personal reflection. And it hurts way worse…

after I left here I took a long break from tumblr and only recently came back. Life is not exactly going the way I wanted it to. I need a place to talk to myself, develop and learn from my actions. I thought about deleting my post history so it doesn't mix in with everything im going to post but i think i'll just leave it.

He pressed their hands Palm against palm, holding it up. Thin near translucent webs could be seen strung between the lower parts of his fingers. He smiled. “You have good hands for swimming.”

Sinbad peeked over the top of the rock he’d been hiding behind, watching the humans on the beach as they swam and surfed. Surfing was what really interested him, though he had no knowledge of what the sport was called personally, and he didn’t understand why a big piece of wood was required either. He looked around for his favorite human, pouting slightly when he didn’t see him. Of all the water gliders, the black haired one seemed the most like someone who belonged in the ocean. It was almost pleasurable to watch him. He’d gotten a bit too close to him last time, having been swimming in the surf when the boy had fallen in and perhaps been spotted, but he was hidden now, seaweed covering his tail as he rested his torso on the rock a ways off from the shore. Surely the boy wouldn’t remember. And how could he find him out here anyways.

Judar hopped out of the car,grabbing his board from the top before Kouen could even react. He ran up to the water,looking out at the horizon with a grin.

There was nothing he loved more than being out on the waves. It was just so relaxing. Quickly, he was paddling out,letting his mind wander to the day before. He had definitely seen something…something human right? Had he just seen another surfer? No…no there was purple and no one he knew was in purple…

Sinbad perked up when he saw him, eyes bright. He was here! The boy had come back! Maybe he hadn’t seen him the day before… He readjusted the seaweed covering his tail a bit, the gold bracelets dangling from his wrists clinking against the rocks as he hauled himself up the face of them an inch or two more. He smiled, head clearly poking out over it now as he watched him paddle out. He was getting so close… He really wanted to talk to him. Ask him about the wood and the colorful trees the humans used on the beach and why they had to cover their chests sometimes when they used the wood to water glide…

But he knew it was a bad idea.

Judar sat on his board to wait for a wave…and took notice of a purple haired guy. Purple… he moved over, “Hello?”

Something akin to a dolphin like sort of squeak left his mouth and he shoved himself back down the rock and into the water. He pushed at the seaweed covering his tail, trying to get it off. Damnit… He shouldn’t have wrapped it so tight! He couldn’t swim away with it still tied around him! He huffed, using sharp nails to tear holes and rip himself free. Hurry hurry hurry….

He climbed over the rock,blinking and looking over. What the…? He poked his head into the water,eyes widening at the sight. He tried to say something,forgetting his head was underwater, and coughed as he pulled his head back out.

His head snapped up at the sound, and his concern for the land boy overweighed his concern for keeping his secret as he swam for the surface, popping up rather close to his face and reaching out to touch his cheek. “Are you okay, human…?”

He gave a few coughs before squeaking in surprise and blushing. “Y-yea. I’ll be ok…wow…” his eyes brightened as he looked at him.

He drew his hand back at the squeak, bracelets jingling as he moved back and sunk until only his eyes were above water. He looked up at him curiously, but with a great deal of caution. He raised up a bit. “… I have to go home…”

His expression fell. “Wha? Really? But…” he frowned,wanting to talk to the merman. “Can I at least get your name?”

Ah… He looked so sad… Why did the human look sad? He moved closer, putting his hands up on the rock and pulling himself out of the water a bit more. Around his neck hung a necklace with a shell hanging from it. The inside was a shining mother of pearl, swimming with colors, and the outside was a pale yellow brown like the sand on the beach in the sun. “You… Do not want me to leave…?”
