Amazed to see how the Lowrider show in Japan brought out the Japanese cholos and cholas; the mexican-american subculture of California. The Lowrider Japan show takes place every year at Makuhari Messe in Chiba City.

Fashion forward Los Angeles boutique, Des Kohan and local jewelry designer, Gabriela Artigas have joined forces to create a delicate pearl collection. An event to debut the line will take place Thursday July 17th from 6-8pm at Des Kohan.

BIKES IN TOKYO!

This may be a random post, however, capturing a lone bicycle upon a cool background in Tokyo is a common occurrence. Its fun stumbling upon these special visual gems!

The iconic "Scenic Drive" sign (bottom image) located throughout San Francisco is a great example of graphic simplicity and one which is nostalgic for me since I grew up in the city. While walking through the North Beach neighborhood a few days ago, I spotted the image above which is a nod to the original sign and includes the infamous Coit Tower atop the seagull's head.

Images from the Daniel Amazu Wasser exhibit at Opening Ceremony Tokyo from Summer 2012. Wasser is an American collage artist whose works mainly feature music personalities that clash with graphic imagery from the artists' urban roots. As you can see from the images posted above and below, music is a huge inspiration for Wasser.

This is such a fun editorial which perfectly captures the frenzy of visuals in Tokyo - the signage, patterns & graphics -all wonderful.

Beautiful historic signage from days gone by..."The New Mission Theater" in San Francisco, California is getting a huge renovation over the next year. I hope the new owners restore the striking marquee and maintain its original design.
