Buried with Bess
She treats her life like sulfurous gas she finds hard to take in
like an advertisement to a program she has never even seen
she has seen the clock change faces and has spent that time with me
I could fault her for her purpose but then I’d have to disagree
she asks the strangest questions and thinks her prerogative discreet
chained to indiscretions yet declares herself free
remarkable though her standpoint her footholds crumbling
she shakes until shes cornered then reveals her ferocity
caring not through want of living
merely for the fact that to retract would imply that she is weak
a testament to troubled waters yet the surface seems so clean
she fears that innocence forgotten is a damnable thing
but its the fear of her never living that truly frightens me
her blindness clearly startling marauding all that is left
never the less she whispers if anything should happen…
Please bury me with Bess
