WidowReaper. Halloween Prompt — 72. “If you can’t wake up from the nightmare, maybe you’re not asleep.”
The city is quiet on this night. There must be a special occasion, for it is rare to see the city without bright lights and a rumbling crowd always keeping a steady murmur upon the streets. She did not think twice of it.
She is gifted beyond measure. From a noble family, with the skills and grace of a swan, she can leap and twirl through the air. A dancer most desirable, for the pearls around her throats and her body movements.
Many will travel far to witness her beauty in action, claiming she is above all else. It is simply her joy, her passion. Still, they throw roses and coins and beg for her bowing kiss.
She believes herself to be invincible, untouchable. Yet, the quiet night forsakes her to the grim reality of humans and their violent nature.
