y es bro i am that guy
Caz pulled up to Decan’s house, not going into the driveway but staying on the road next to his house. They sent the other a quick text letting him know they were here. He unlocked the doors, waiting for decan to hop in.
- @cazpyciobanu
Caz, through the windows of the car, could see— after a minute or two— Decan, ducking out of the front door with an unreadable expression on and stepping out onto the sidewalk leading up to the front door. He promptly shuts the front door in a very gentle and silent manner, and turns his heel, forming a big lazy grin, as he heads up to Caz’s car. Caz can see that he’s holding a flat-ish white box, accompanied by what seems to be a bracelet or two.
Coming around the side of the car, he pulls on the handle of the car door and ducks in, sitting in the passenger seat and smiling his usual smile with those green half-lidded eyes of his.
“hey, dude. thanks for picking me up for this, bro.. always the goat.”
He sets the box and the bracelets on his lap as he sits down and closes the car door; he leans over the items as if to shield Caz from looking at them for now.
He smiled, locking the doors as he started up the car again.
Of course, man. It’d be rude if I didn’t. There was no way I’d make you walk all the way over there.
He laughed at the idea he’d make decan do that, it just sounded insane to him. He turned on the radio, going to a station that actually had good music.
Caz was wearing a more casual version of his regular outfit. He no longer had the tie or vest, but he still had the gloves, turtleneck, and a fuck ton of bracelets. As he always did.
Decan, as expected, wore the same outfit as he always does. No-one knows if it’s by choice or he really doesn’t have any other clothes.
Yellow T-shirt, Los Bunkers written on the collar of it along with their band logo on the middle of the shirt, Jean jacket with it’s sleeves torn off, the belt and the ripped jeans, and red and orange shoes.
“and even if you did, man, I’d be fine with it n’ walk there. i’m chill with anything.”
He replied, honestly. He’s quick to move on, and seems more eager about getting what seems to be a gift over to Caz.
“anyway, I uh, saved up and got you a lil’ somethin’, since you’re genuinely The Dude. number freaking one.”
Decan shifts, first handing Caz one of the bracelets. It’s a teensy bit big, and the beads in it are magenta, cyan, and purple in color, and there’s letter beads strewn on it that spell ‘the gaot’. Goat is obviously misspelled.
“first off, got matching bracelets for us. mine is orange and stuff. it’s kind-of awesome.”
He smiles over at Caz as he explains, looking almost pleased with himself. Either that or he’s happy with the fact that he’s currently giving Caz a gift in general.
Aww decan… that’s so sweet…
I’ll look at it more when we get there. I need to make sure I don’t kill us both by crashing my car.
His heart skipped a beat at the thought that Decan went through all of this just for him. God, why does he have to feel like this?
You really didn’t have to do any of this for me… I feel bad you wasted your money on me out of all people…
There goes that self-doubt again. He wished he didn’t have to deal with any of these emotions and shit. He was going to try to block those feelings for now and just attempt to enjoy the night.
“naaah dude, it’s chill. Y’know I like giving out gifts to bros.”
Decan hums, before sitting up and reaching back into the backseat to set the white box down in the middle, flat. He then sits back down and shifts to get comfortable. He leans to the side a bit to where Caz is to speak again.
“..got you a massive pretzel too, by the way. It’s freaking awesome.”
He gives a nod, and then exhales as he sits up straight, smiling a bit, and eyeing out of the windshield of the car with a slightly blank look in his eyes; though he always has that no-thoughts look.
“but uh, this is gonna be super freaking sun to hang out. it’s been, like… as-many-games-as-LeBron-James has-won-to-years since I’ve gotten outta the house outside of school, man.”
That’s an interesting way to say it... I’m unaware of how many games he’s won so… if you actually want me to know what you said, you’re gonna have to use a real number.
And uh, thanks for the pretzel, dude. We can share it, I had some food before I left so I’m not too hungry.
He continued driving, taking turns here and there. It seemed he knew where he was going.
They were basically the only car on the road, which felt a bit odd, but Caz was sticking to side roads more than main ones so it made sense.
After a bit of driving and some random conversations, they arrived at the field. It was just a small parking lot in front of a large field looking out over the city. He put the car in park, unlocking the doors and holding his keys.
Well, we’re here. I can get the pretzel out of the back.
Pumping his fist up, he smiles wide, eyebrows furrowed, and sets his freehand on the car door handle.
“let’s freaking GO! dude and dude time!”
With haste, Decan then opens the car door, hops out and shuts it, rounds the front of the car, and then opens the car door on the driver’s side; adding onto the act by extending a hand outwards at the area around them.
“s’ my pleasure, dude.”
Whether he intended to be joking about being gentlemanly or if he was being serious about it is ambiguous.
He just stared for a moment, trying to stay normal about this. He knew Decan was just doing this to be funny, at least that’s what he thinks.
Thank you, Decan… I wasn’t expecting that.
He steps out, closing the door behind him. He went to the back, opening the door and taking out the pretzel. He closed the door, locking his car even though no one was around. He put his key in his pocket, walking over to the field with both the pretzel and bracelet.
Come on, dude. Let’s chill and just forget about any problems we have.
Starting on their way, he makes sure he walks shoulder to shoulder with Caz on their way to the field. He runs a hand through his messy, somehow neat-ish and clean without being brushed in quite a bit blond hair, and brushes off his jean jacket as they walk, and he doesn’t have much to bring up along the way.
Once they’re able to scale the hill, he then sinks down onto his knees, before he unfolds them and brings them out to lay out and forward on the soft grass. He waits for Caz to accompany him.
Caz sits down next to him, placing the box and bracelet down. He leaned back slightly, looking up at the stars and smiling.
Nice night, huh?
He looked back down, picking up the bracelet and admiring it. He let out a soft giggle when he saw that goat was misspelled, he wasn’t going to bring it up. He pushed his bracelets up, making room for the new one. He put it on, smiling as he looked back up at the sky.
“yeah. thank god we can see the stars so clearly like this where we live. awesome, man.”
His eyes drift across the stars, admiring them thoroughly. He took time to soak them in, as it seems like he doesn’t get out late a lot to see them. His expression is almost distant, in a way. Hazy, and genuine as he looks over them.
“d’you read constellations? or, like, read stars or something? that freaking cool stuff?”
He says as he eyes over to look at Caz directly, tilting his head.
Eh, not really… I know like the basics, but I don’t know other constellations…
Caz looked over at Decan, smiling at him before they looked back up. He fidgeted with his bracelets, looking down at them and spinning them.
I’m sure like Big Dipper is out here or the little one… uh… I don’t really remember the others…
He looked over at the pretzel box, opening it and ripping off a small piece of it. He ate it before laying down fully and staring at the sky.
“c’mon, dude, show me.”
He beckons. He, not taking a bit of the pretzel, followed, and sunk down onto his back; arms folding back to rest his hands behind his head. He glances over at Caz, expectedly.
“and, y’know, if you can’t find any, just freaking tell me what things you can draw in the stars, like a smiley-face or a cat or somethin’”
Oh- uh okay then… uh let’s see…
He stared up, looking to see if he can find any constellations or just any shapes. He pointed at the Big Dipper, or at least what he thought was the Big Dipper.
That’s the Big Dipper I think. Uh I don’t know if the little one is visible tonight, and I don’t really know what tells the two apart…
He continued to look up, seeing if he could find any other shapes or constellations. He rested his hands on his chest, ready to point if he saw anything.
His eyes followed Caz’s finger whenever he pointed. He squints, looking at where it is and tries to make out the shape of it.
“ooh. that’s sick.”
He nods, as if to confirm he’s found it. While Caz looked for more, Decan unfolded his left arm and rested it down on the grass between them— both to prepare for whenever he needed to point as well as to feel the grass below them.
“mmm… i see 6. lebron’s number, dude. that’s awesome. and..”
Decan points up at the night sky, to gesture to the area that it’s in. His hand drifts as he points to another spot.
“..and I see a swirl sorta thing, like the things on your goggles, dude. you’re up here! that’s like.. crazy.”
He, not-too-commonly, lets out a low snicker under his breath as he points up, before his arm drops onto the grass between them once again.
He giggled, smiling as he looked where Decan pointed.
I guess I am… that’s pretty funny, huh? Didn’t think I’d be in the stars out of all places.
He lets out a small laugh, idly fidgeting with his bracelets. He continued to look for things in the stars, not finding much.
That looks like… mmmm… kinda looks like a tiger…
He pointed up at the place he was looking.
It’s like your basketball team, since y’know, you guys are the tigers!
He chuckled, resting his arms again.
Now we’re both in the sky!
“dude. tiger. like me. both of us. that’s freaking awesome.”
He thinks for a moment, before he turns his head to glance over at Caz for a moment. He then looks back up at the sky, his usual unreadable expression on, with half-lidded eyes and a resting smile.
“i’m gonna, like… get the moon. in my bare freaking hands. like a basketball. i’m gonna play basketball with it, dude, and then, i’m gonna pass it to you so you can take the win. like a basketball game. i’m gonna give you the moon, bro. cuz’ you’re the goat.”
He doesn’t point up as he speaks. His arm stays rested on the grass, and his pinkie, lightly, nudges at Caz’s side when it shifts slightly.
He looked over at Decan, letting out a quiet snicker.
I think I’d lose the game for us, man. And also, the moon would be a shit ball. That shit can’t bounce, dude. Plus, super fucking heavy. Overall, pretty bad ball for basketball.
He looked back up, smiling. He sighed, why did he have to like Decan out of all people? The one person he doesn’t even have a chance with. He hated being in love so fucking much.
Mmm… only so many things you can see in stars, huh?
“yeah. guess so. wish you could see more. though, it’s freaking fun to see things in stars with bros, dude. and getting out at night with bros in general.”
He hums and, almost more insistently, he nudges Caz’s side with his hand, before he flips his hand over so the palm faced up, to beckon the other. Facial expression unchanged.
“it’s okay if we can’t see too much in stars long as we’re hanging out and it’s freaking awesome and we’re feelin’ chill.”
They stare at Decan and then at his hand, placing theirs on top and holding his hand.
Yeah… as long as we’re together, I’m sure we’ll have fun.
He softly smiled, he couldn’t help but hear a slightly romantic tone in that sentence. He didn’t like it, but he just hoped Decan didn’t pick up on it. Or maybe he did hope he noticed.
So… why’d you put your hand out? You wanna lead me somewhere or some shit?
He snickered, he was genuinely curious on what Decan was going to do, even if it sounded like he didn’t care.
“no, dude, i just wanted to hold hands. like a bro.”
Decan grins. He looks over to meet Caz’s eyes, and he looks to the side as he thinks for a moment.
“but, like, we could go somewhere too, if you want. like near the old kinda cool church or, like, near the mall, where there’s like, nature-y areas.”
He offered, and he tilted his head just a bit.
Uh… I don’t know… we can go somewhere if you want… I don’t mind staying here or going somewhere else.
If he were to be honest, anywhere with Decan was heaven. He’d never say that though. He interlocked his and Decan’s fingers, looking away once he did so.
If we’re gonna go somewhere, I should put the pretzel back in my car… I’ll probably eat it another day if I don’t tonight.
Caz looked back at Decan, a small smile on his face. It was easy to tell he didn’t care if the two went somewhere else or stayed in the field.
“mm.. yeah, sure. you can go n’ do that and then we can walk over to the nature park sort-of area near the mall.”
Decan smiles. He then stretched, sat up, and let out a soft exhale.
“just for a little. dunno, maybe to check it out or something.”
When saying that, he makes sure to look Caz dead in the eyes, still with his usual chill expression. He’s very bad about trying to communicate anything through body language. Or, maybe, he just looked at Caz like that, for no particular reason.
He had a nervous smile as Decan stared at him, laughing nervously.
Alright then, sure. We can do that. I’ll go put the pretzel in my car.
He stood up, letting go of Decan’s hand and walking over to his car. He took his keys out of his pockets, unlocking his car and putting the pretzel inside. He closed the door, locking his car and putting his keys back in his pocket.
Alright, we can keep going now.
With that, Decan followed up behind, and grabbed his hand yet again. He already started leading the way. Maybe his grip on Caz’s hand was a bit firmer than it needed to be, but he wouldn’t know that.
With a remaining dopey smile, Decan led the both of them on a relatively short walk to the small-ish green space near the singular mall in Shirington. Decan turns his head to look over the passing nature, flowerbeds, and trees that are rich in color, along with the active large water fountain they’re coming up on in this park; all a little dimmer in color given the shadowing yet pleasant night.
“oh, man. it’s been, like.. years since I’ve been in this area and park. so pretty here, dude.”
It really is… it’s quite nice.
He looks around at the pretty scenery, smiling as he walked over to the fountain. He sat down on the ledge, continuing to look at the nature around him.
I like hanging out in nature… it’s peaceful…
He closed his eyes, enjoying the sound of running water from the fountain. There was a light breeze, which was nice since it was a semi-hot night.
“yup. really is, dude.”
He hums, sitting down next to Caz on the ledge. Their hands still connected, they sit close. He looks around at the nature, thoroughly, and enjoys the calmness of the night. He glances at Caz. He looks like, maybe, he’s thinking, but he also tends to have not a single thought in his head most of the time, so it may not be likely. Though he stills a bit. It seems like he wants to say something, but he won’t; so for the moment, he just smiles and observed the nature.
“only area in this area that feels welcoming, to be honest.”
Fair… rest of this place is… mmm. not as calming as here to say the least.
He looks away, not wanting to look at Decan right now. He wished he could just hang out with Decan without breaking his heart. He hated that he loved Decan, he knows he doesn’t have a chance, that’s why he hates it.
Caz hummed like he was about to say something, but no words ended up coming out of his mouth. He hadn’t looked at Decan for a good while, something was obviously on his mind but he wasn’t going to say anything.
After a bit of silence, Decan, after a moment of thinking, raised one of his hands to gently turn Caz’s head to meet his eyes again; moving Caz’s head by turning his chin. Decan tilts his head a bit, with his smile fading with his curiosity.
“you okay, dude?”
Decan gently and reassuringly runs his thumb back and forth on the back of Caz’s hand where they’re intertwined.
Caz’s eyes widen as his face turns redder, his heart skipped a beat as he looked away again. He covered his face with his hand, trying to hide the blush.
yeah yeah, I’m fine. Sorry I-
He continued to avoid eye contact, trying to calm himself down. He couldn’t look at Decan right now, he’d probably break down sobbing or some stupid shit like that.
“it’s, uh. it’s alright, dude.”
Decan hums. He blinks, watching Caz as he looks away, and he shifts where he sits as he thinks for a bit. He allows Caz a moment to himself.
His hand slightly and slowly pulled back, and his thumb remained tracing over the back of Caz’s hand.
“did, i like, make you upset orr, is it somethin’ else? or do you not wanna talk about it?”
He asks, with more of a gentle, slow tone, and a bit lower.
no no… I’m not mad at you or anything… it’s… it’s nothing… don’t worry about it.
He wanted to talk about it, but he couldn’t bring himself to do so. He was too scared to ruin their friendship.
He wanted to move on from this awkward standstill of their conversation, but he was too scared to say anything, afraid he’d say something he didn’t want to.
So uh… fuck- I don’t even know what to say to make this less awkward…
“caz, man, it’s alright. you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.”
He assures Caz. There’s a pause and a bit of silence before Decan scoots closer to Caz where they’re sitting on the water fountain. He still holds Caz’s hand, but he sits so that they’re pretty much shoulder-to-shoulder.
“is uh, this okay?”
He stays sitting close. He really wants to try his best to comfort Caz and get a little closer, but he wants to do so with getting permission with getting close. He pulls away from holding Caz’s hand and, instead, begins to arch his arm around to Caz’s mid torso on his back, so to say holding Caz’s waste. Decan stays open, and chill about it.
y-yeah… it’s okay…
He was blushing so hard right now, he didn’t look at Decan solely so he didn’t see how much blush covered their face.
I… I wish I could tell you but… I’m… scared.
I’m scared what you’ll think… I don’t wanna ruin what we have…
He paused, still not looking at Decan. He could feel tears start to sting his eyes, fuck, he hated this.
fuck…
He stilled. He didn’t force Caz to look at him, and his expression became more serious.
“dude, i promise, on everything i care about, that i’ll stay chill, no-matter what you say. you know how chill i am, right? chillest dude of all time. and, I won’t judge you, whatever it is.”
He watches Caz very, very carefully, and he provides Caz with absolute patience.
“don’t be scared, dude. you’re not gonna ruin what we have, man. titanium bond.”
but- … but what if it does? it’s… gonna change something… and I know it will…
maybe you’ll be able to get over it… but I won’t…
He sniffed, looking over at Decan out of the corner of his eyes. His eyes were watery, his breathing heavier now.
I- I love you, Decan… and it’s stupid because I know I don’t have a chance… but I can’t get over it… I just… I wish I could have a chance with you… but I know that you and Stacy love each other… and that you’re straight…
He was fully crying now, he tried not to but he couldn’t hold it back this time.
I’m sorry… I’m stupid for even getting a crush on you…
his eyes slightly widened, and his eyebrows slightly lowered as he watched Caz begin to cry. Forming a slight frown, Decan exhaled softly, and he raised his freehand to Caz’s face— beginning to gently wipe Caz’s tears away, despite them continuing to flow.
“..caz.. dude, i..”
He was having partial difficulty thinking and getting out the correct words. His frown, only slightly, formed into a small smile, and Decan looked into Caz’s eyes.
“look at me directly, man. caz— no man, it’s not stupid. and, i mean, yeah, i love stacy and she loves me, but— first off, she fully told me she’d allow our relationship to be open. that’s one, and two, honestly— i love you too. i think.. i mean.. you know how stupid i can be. talking about it, now, i realize i really do love you, man. i have for a while now. i’m fairly blind when it comes to realizing i have crushes. but, really, i do love you, too.”
The hand that was wiping Caz’s tears away now simply held the side of Caz’s face, and he turned his face to look at him more directly. The arm Decan had wrapped around Caz’s lower waist remained, and Decan’s eyes met Caz’s glossed-over ones. A light, darkened tinge of pinkish-red hue dusted Decan’s freckled cheeks, and leaked into the skin on his nose-bridge.
He stayed silent for a moment, trying to process what he heard. He looked at Decan, he still seemed so unsure about it all.
Really?
He spoke quietly, sniffing as he wiped his tears away. It felt unbelievable to him. He never thought of a world where Decan said that he loved them back. He just stared at Decan for a moment, his eyelids drooping slightly. He quickly hugged onto him, trying not to let either of them fall while he did so. He nuzzled his head into the other’s neck, keeping it there as his breathing started to return to normal.
I love you… I really really love you, Decan…
He smiled softly, eyeing down at the back of Caz’s head, and he hugged back— tight. One of his hands raised to nestle into Caz’s hair on the back of his head, and his other arm remained wrapped around Caz.
“i love you too, man. wholeheartedly.”
He keeps Caz close; allowing Caz as much time as he’d like to be in the hug.
He smiled at Decan’s words, happy he finally got to hear it. He kept his hold firm, not wanting to let him go.
is it bad that I already want to kiss you?
He said that quietly, not really wanting him to hear it, but Decan would hear it anyway. He blushed after he processed what he said, he regretted it, but he wouldn’t if it did lead to him and Decan kissing.
“dude.”
Decan then grinned, and pulled back a bit to meet Caz’s eyes. His usual expression on— with a hint of red in his cheeks. He snickers.
“let’s freaking go, man.”
And with that, and not another word, Decan closed his eyes and leaned forward— pushing their lips together. He tilted his head, and his arms shifted so his hands could slot onto Caz’s hips.
Caz happily reciprocated the kiss, moving his hands to rest on Decan’s shoulders. One of his hands moved to the back of the other’s head, deepening the kiss as he tangled his fingers in his blond hair.
If he had a tail, it would be wagging so fast right now. He loved every damn bit about this. It felt so relieving to finally kiss him. Caz hesitantly pulled back, breathing a little harder now. He smiled, moving his arms back around Decan.
You’re a good kisser, my love…
He snickered breathily, and he pulled one hand back to fix his hair. He met his eyes, and regrew his usual lazy smile and half-lidded eyes.
“thank you, man. you too. but— if we’re gonna be, like a freaking thing..”
He grew a slightly serious look, and narrowed his eyes at Caz.
“just know i am NOT going to stop calling you dude, bro, and man. i physically cannot not call you those on the daily, bro. stacy’s on the same standards..”
That’s alright, I expected nothing less from you anyway.
He giggled, smiling at Decan before nuzzling their head back into his neck.
Hope you don’t mind pet names because I will be using those for you. I’ll still call you dude, man, and bro, but less frequently now.
He paused for a moment before he started to speak again.
So… speaking of being a thing… what are we now?
“iuuuh..”
He looks up and squints, itching the back of his neck.
“freaking.. boyfriends or something? partners? that sounds coolio. iunno. i’m chill with anything, bro.”
He smiles and shrugs, raising a hand to play with Caz’s hair.
He giggled, smiling against Decan’s skin.
I think boyfriends sounds nice… so I guess we’re official then, huh? I never thought this would happen…
But I’m glad it did…
He closed his eyes, relaxing his body against Decan’s.
Decan exhales— taking a slow breath and a moment to admire the nature yet again, before he shifts and pulls away from Caz. He meets his eyes and smiles at him.
“you wanna head back now, man? my dad’ll get mad if i’m out too late, anyway.”
Oh yeah… that’s a good idea.
Caz pulled back, getting up and offering his hand to Decan.
Let’s get you home, man.
Decan took the offered hand and got up with Caz; already on their way to the car.
After they got into the car, they already started back on the drive to Decan’s house. It was, definitely, a calm drive. Decan sat in shotgun next to Caz, and he glanced down at the matching bracelet he made for himself to match Caz’s— smiling a lot wider.
As they pulled up to Decan’s home, Caz smiled. He put the car in park, unlocking the doors and looking over at Decan.
He grinned, leaning over and giving Decan a kiss on the cheek.
Love ya.
He smiled at Decan, waiting for his response.
Decan blinked, before he smiled wide, and returned the peck— also kissing Caz on the cheek, before opening the car door on his side.
“love you too, bro.”
Decan then slipped out of the car, and stopped on the street he stepped onto— looking back at Caz.
“but, dude, i’ll have to get back to you on whether or not i love you more than lebron..”
He gave a wink, followed by a chuckle, and then shut the car door— coming around the front of the car, giving a wave goodbye, and then opening the front door to his own home and walking inside— shutting it behind himself.
Caz pulled up to Decan’s house, not going into the driveway but staying on the road next to his house. They sent the other a quick text letting him know they were here. He unlocked the doors, waiting for decan to hop in.

He softly smiled, he couldn’t help but hear a slightly romantic tone in that sentence. He didn’t like it, but he just hoped Decan didn’t pick up on it. Or maybe he did hope he noticed.

Caz pulled up to Decan’s house, not going into the driveway but staying on the road next to his house. They sent the other a quick text letting him know they were here. He unlocked the doors, waiting for decan to hop in.

Caz pulled up to Decan’s house, not going into the driveway but staying on the road next to his house. They sent the other a quick text letting him know they were here. He unlocked the doors, waiting for decan to hop in.
