More accurate diagram of safer* spots for self injury.
Yellow is for safer. Black and red is for unsafe. Due to many nerves, tendons/ligaments, high likelihood of major bleed or permanent disability.

*safer does not mean safe. All self harm has risks and dangers. And even these spots still have nerves and other things present so be cautious always. And prepared just in case.
Also remember the thinner you are the less depth you can safely do. As you have less tissue available to protect your vital organs, circulatory system and the like.
Also take into account bleed risk, fainting risk or infection risk:
-if your tool or your skin is not properly cleaned beforehand
-you have a bleeding disorder
-you are immunocompromised
-you took medication that thins your blood like aspirin, ibuprofen, blood thinners, lithium, clozapine, carbamazepine, valproic acid and SSRI antidepressants, ...
-your skin easily tears/is thin or fragile
-you do not have enough vitamin C which causes reopening of healed wounds and scars due to Scurvy
-you have low blood sugar or are dehydrated
-an animal licked or rubbed against the wound
-you drank alcohol which is a blood thinner
