Declan had gone outside to cool off and was sitting under a tree reading a book. He heard the noise of a penny board and looked up to see Joey coming to a stop in front of him. He managed a small smile “Hey Joey.”

He nodded "Have you done it before?"

Declan nodded slowly "Yeah, it's not fair."

He sighed "I'm fine, not that you're honestly interested I'm sure."

He looked up at the boy wide eyed “You’d go get coffee with me?”
