vil. ⟡
|| █ ▌— from what vil knew of riddle rosehearts, he was aware that the younger prefect was something of a perfectionist. much like vil himself, he seemed to want to do things correctly the first time… though not necessarily on his own. vil knew riddle would likely defer to his expertise if it was offered, but one couldn’t learn without at least an attempt on one’s own, after all.
not that he planned to let riddle struggle with this for too long. that wouldn’t serve any purpose other than to make riddle feel embarrassed, something vil was not trying to do.
❝ he would have, wouldn’t he? a shame sam isn’t here, as much as i enjoy the process of shopping, i do miss the convenience of the shop he ran… ❞ he said, trailing off as he watched riddle put aside another product. this was good, he’d narrowed it down quite a bit and was getting closer to the one vil would personally have selected for him.
dry skin was a common enough problem in the wintertime, and there were a number of moisturizers that would work well enough. enough was the operative word, though, of course.
❝ every product claims to be the best at what it does. that doesn’t necessarily mean it will work for you. ❞
he picked up one product and looked it over. he didn’t have terribly dry skin himself, but winter weather could sap the moisture out of almost any skin type. riddle seemed to have it worse than he did, though, so he’d need something different from what vil would use. but he was curious to see if riddle would copy his selection or not as he added one moisturizer to his growing pile of selected products.
THE ROSE KINGDOM was not horrendously sunny nor was it terribly cold. whilst often did the winters pack a bite to them && riddle would brave the risk of a sunburn come the time he was allowed outside by the grace of his mother . . . the temperatures did not compare by any means to spirale’s chill.
riddle favours science above cooking. there is a modicum of comfort in having the chemicals pre-planned && with their purposes known. such was the same for skincare - everything held a reason. albeit, packing on copious amounts of cheaper products barren with so much of an ingredient list was a spell for disaster.
gloved hands reach forth, settling atop of a cream that served well for dry skin. one he had seen vils eyes flicker to once or twice - riddle knew to trust his judgment well. of course, this was the one he himself had been curious on . . .
❛❛ — this one. it’s important to play to your individual skin type, isn’t it? though, i can’t really say bees wax sounds to be the most appealing thing to put on my face, ❜❜ there is a small tinge of amusement to his voice as he sets it into the basket hung from his arm. ❛❛ you seem to be awfully interested in this product specifically. ❜❜
the prefect does not dabble in excesses. despite the belief that, based on his decorum of a queen, he was royalty himself. . . such was far from the truth. a commoner, albeit one with wealth. never one to live lavishly with whatever he wished at his disposal ( bar that of finer medical care && education ), riddle did not necessarily care for whatever was the highest priced and most raved about luxurious product of the week.
❛❛ i hear some people prefer to make their own skin products. things like sugar and honey. it sounds awfully sticky, but, i’d be eager to learn. ❜❜
