She glances at where the monster had been moments before. He didnât have to finish his sentence. It had been close, she wouldnât have survived, she was sure of it. Raven hadnât even hesitated⊠She quickly turned her attention back to Raven though. She couldnât let herself get distracted by what couldâve been. She had to save the man in front of her.
She offers him a fragile smile, trying to stay positive for him. âYou need to stop talking. Iâm almost done, youâre going to be okay.â It wasnât looking good, but she knew she could do it. If anyone could save him, itâd be her. âJust relax. Let me save you, like you saved me.â
âYa know how much I like tah talk,â he chuckles, but it ends in a wet cough, and boy, maybe the Princess was right. He should probably stop talking.Â
He returns her smile. âJust gladâŠyer okayâŠâ He wouldnât have been able to stand himself if she had gotten hurt, especially if he had the opportunity to save her and he just didnât take it.Â
He just hoped she was right, because right now he was starting to feel like he wasnât going to be okay.
She shakes her head, her eyes welling with tears. âJust breathe, just focus on breathing - on living.â She sniffs.
âYouâre going to be fine - just donât leave me. Not like this.â It was taking so long because she couldnât focus. Thatâs it, it wasnât because he wasnât going to be fine. She just needed more time.Â
