the colorful tiles
Every Thursday coming back from school I pass in front of a former beauty salon for kids. It was known for having colorful tiles in its facade. Every kid here from the early 00s wanted to go there, and I wasnāt an exception. That place was the one that I used to see when Iād go to the mall, the only mall we had here for a while. So Iāve grown a lot in our relationship because it reminds me good moments and feelings and sensations, just by passing in front of it. The truth is.. Iāve never been there, just stared, waiting to go someday. That day never came and never will, first because Iām not a kid anymore and second because itās no longer what it used to be. And thatās why Iāve been watching every Thursday, it becoming another thing. But the tiles... those didnāt went off quickly. I could watch it getting shorter and shorter until thereās nothing, none to tell a story, to remind me what it once was. Some of it is still there, but it wonāt eventually. And it will all become just another ordinary development. It makes me mournful. It makes me remember everything that Iād been through all theses years, the movies that I watched and wanted to watch, the ones that changed my life, happy moments with my mom.. just regular memories from a distant and happy kid that was simply looking at a beauty salon with colorful tiles.
Iāve been thinking about this song these couple of days. Itās so dark and captivating at the same time it attracts you to go live with the song, literally.
i wish i could say this wasnāt me in 2008 butā¦
this was me literally yesterday in my car
@illneverrecover This you?
Thank you, Indochine, for debuting on my first big catch of 2021 šš¼
I just realized that I donāt need to make big statements about howās my life going and try to put pieces of memories together to build a storyline of it. I only need to register whatās really going on at the moment and let it be. So Iām back.. on the chain gang.
# small fragments of time life
Just finished reading (yesterday) Jurassic Park and man, what a ride. I want to stop the feeling of āif I had read it sooner, I wouldāve enjoyed moreā, but at the same time I feel that I read it in the right time. I enjoyed every single moment of the book, Crichton is a genius!! Jurassic Park was always one of my favorite movies of all time, and the book is not any different.
Yesterday I became mother of this beautiful baby plant and Iām happy as a clam! I went unpretentiously to a plant store near my house with my mom and saw this plant and immediately I remembered my late grandmother who used to have a lot of this kind of plant and I could watch her and my aunt taking care of them, granny really loved her plants. I was actually looking for daisies, but they die very quickly and when I saw this AntĆŗrio (her name in Portuguese) I couldnāt not take her home. Luckily I met a very kind woman who explained the plants there for me, she was really gentle to us. It might sound appealing (donāt think itās the right word here), but I believe that woman was sent from heaven to be there with me; she said: itās good to have a plant, you can talk to them, they can heal you, itās good to your mind.
I feel really lucky and thankful that now I have something to take care of and to be responsible for. Welcome to my life, Turizinha. šŗāØ
PS.: in English sheās known as painterās palette and flamingo flower, I couldnāt believe she was meant to be mine!
Iāve been away, I was going through a little crisis that I thought it would haunt me forever (new definition of my crises) and it had to do with my anxiety. Somehow it got through my āmusic fan lifeā, I thought that Iād never find a great song again (???). I mean, this is crazy (I know!); of course I will find another great song (thatās what Iāve been repeating to myself these days), aaaaand voilĆ ! I found it!! I gave it a shot, listened to this Smashing Pumpkinsā album and found this amazing song, the one above - try, try, try -, and now listening to it repeatedly I realized that itās exactly what I was trying to do. Try. Trying to like a new song, trying to put my mind in the right place, trying to rearrange my thoughts, trying to overcome my anxiety. The discovering of Smashing Pumpkins was one of the greatest things (if not THE greatest thing) of 2011 for me and now again they play a huge part in my life. I feel so grateful āØ
Ghibli films look the way it feels to exist in this world, like not how the world actually looks, but how it feels- and in all the good ways
the warm buttered toast of early mornings, the sheated heavy rain of grey days, the huge welling tears of grief and the electric anger that raises your whole head of hair
like, itās not real, but itās really Real, you feel me?
I listened to this song for the first time in a Japanese Breakfast playlist and I fell in love immediately. To be honest, I think itās the first song that I got to feel what it was trying to say, or at least the first I dared to guess its message. Itās like those fast forward scenes of places in movies to show the passing of time. the fast pace turn that life in the modern world is taking. the everyday life. and time again.
It's all that we have, just that and the big, beautiful blue sky.
Finally I finished this awesome but not entirely book. Itās the first memoir I read so I canāt really judge the storytelling, but I enjoyed most of it. Lena helped me in ways I didnāt expect and for that Iām so grateful to her. Iāll definitely follow her projects from now on as I didnāt know much about her before reading it, except that sheās an advocate of women rights and body shape questions - reasons why I chose this book to read. She talked about many things that happened to her and the things she has learned from it. I related with her a lot, I thought that I was the only one who has weird memories or did weird stuff. There were times she was white people problems, but today Iām sure sheās not.. some people change and grow, Iām glad she was open about it. She seems to be a really nice girl, Iād love to meet her! She talked about life, fears and nostalgia so brilliantly! (and the details of her memories!!!) She kept diaries from 2010!!! Also, I loved the idea she had in puting everything she wanted to say but she couldnāt in email format, Iāll definitely copy that. Iāll surely be posting some quotes of her in days ahead. *obs.: a little sinchronicity happened, but Iāll talk about it later.*
As an artist in need of creativity, Lena inspired me to create and I love her for that. Sheās is the reason why I created this and Iām forever thankful to her. š§”
