Sappho, If Not Winter: Fragments of Sappho (tr. by Anne Carson)
I love him, but I have to leave him behind.
I don’t want to.
But I think I might need to?
I feel so much emotional pain and I don’t know what to do with it as I have no understanding of where it’s even coming from
I just want to disappear into fantastical realms and get lost in stories and become characters and feel so far away from myself for just a sec
I just think that would help a little bit
I feel I need to absorb the energy of strong determined characters so that I may become that myself
Because for the first time in my entire life….i simply don’t have the energy to continue :(
Snippets of poems I read the other day that remind me of him.
Hey quick question - is one supposed to feel as though a part of them has died after watching The Phantom of the Opera (2004) for the first time (and another four times after that within the span of a few days)????
Pls send help, I fear I may never recover from this

Tonight I tossed & turned for two hours, unable to sleep. A medley of songs on repeat in my brain wouldn’t, couldn’t stop playing. I called off for work at 3am, sat outside on my front porch with a blanket wrapped around me, and enjoyed the thunderstorm. I cried and the earth cried too.
So much time has gone by, I didn’t know how much I would change
I’m rediscovering this site after around 6 years of not using it. This blog goes back to 2014 and I don’t necessarily have any desire to go back and delete the old posts that no longer resonate with me. They are pieces of who I once was, so they will stay.
But I am back. I am 6 years older, I am wiser, I am more educated. And I’m excited to continue this journey after such a long hiatus.

DANCERS
Trees seem to dance between them. Everything in motion, nothing static. A fraction of time, digitally captured.
